"Savage empire" cycle.
Stumbled on it when looked for some english-language books.
Tried it and unexpectedly read with interest.
Classic fantasy (without sorcery but psi-abilities).
Books are short, and because of that not so boring as Martin's books. And not so "real" either (wich also good).
