Zoe Saldana is fine as hell.

Good chemistry among the leads, not bad but as someone who grew up watching the TOS movies and The Next Generation the reboot movies don't feel like Star Trek. They're straight action (almost superhero) movies with a Star Trek veneer.

Why waste 2 hours on one of the more cerebral missions and NG sometimes tried to sell the mundane and the sedate as adventure.

Kirk rolls up and is cool but firm. If your cool, he''s cool.

You fuck with him and he won't stand their like and English fag playing a frenchman aand try to understand you.

He's going to fire phasers or double hand hammer fist to the chest, double drop kick and then Tome Nage and right cross to finish!

New movie gets that.

Saw it this week. Best action movie I've seen in a while. Completely worth the money.

I can't decide if the over the top acting is a tribute to the original series or a parody, or a bit of both.

basically I'm Raoul Duke trying to fit into a Philip K. Dick movie remake.

I can't decide whether or not the dress uniforms were a tribute to Spaceballs or not. Liked it though.

Was sort of colossal..Meh. The OTT seemed a tribute..the spaceballs thing I wish I would have noticed in real time...would have been more enjoyable.

Saw it over the weekend. Not bad. I enjoyed it a helluva lot more than the first one.

There are a number of cute little shout-outs to old school nerds like me. For example, at one point Chris Pine tells the crew to ready that space ship they confiscated last month during the "Mudd" affair. And obviously it was fun the way they appropriated the finale of Wrath of Khan.

The first movie offended me, not so much while I was watching but after the fact, thinking about it. This one I actually kinda liked. I'd sit thru it again so my wife could see it.
