Re: Fuck you, nicotine
It took me 4 years to quit dipping and one of the major contributing factors was realizing there was no such thing as just one pinch. I would have one pinch thinking I would be right back on the wagon after it was done, or maybe finish the can. A month later and I would still be dipping. I remember ...

Re: Phillip Seymour Hoffman dead
I got to say this is very interesting. I have heard the whole, "Well, if your going to drink then at least don't drive and don't drink with stupid people." time and time again (at least indirectly). I have never heard the same logic applied to drugs and I really find the whole idea very in...

Re: Any paramedics here
Thanks for all the advice. Right now I am waiting on word to see if I have been accepted into an apprenticeship, if that falls through I have a temp job that will hire me permanently. Once I settle in to that job I will look into EMT school and eventually paramedic.

I'm not EMS certified or anything, while the idea of someone else paying for my schooling sounds awesome, I don't really know why someone would hire me and send me to school so I can work for them once I graduate and get certified/licensed.

Any paramedics here
In my pursuit to find a career, paramedic is the new idea of the month. What can you tell me about this field? I only know of one personally who says it is a very rewarding yet high stress career field. There is a school not too far who offers a paramedic program. What advice do you have for someone...

Re: Combat vets & suicide
It's the life style. People that have never been in the military don't understand that for most young single males, the military is a fraternity with guns. Everything is work very hard; Party very hard. The higher up the food chain up through the combat arms and up into Special opperations, the mor...

Maybe analysing the shit out of how to make them, is the most fun your personality type will have with Atlas stones. Actually I am trying to make money at this which is why I care about being so analytical. If it were just for my own use I would use pre bagged stuff and if it ever fell apart I woul...

Re: Anyone knowledgable on concrete here
Haha! Everyone is an expert on the internet. Why would I choose to select gravel or crushed limestone for a coarse aggregate? In a mix that is 50/50 Portland cement and slag cement, what effects could I expect to see by dropping that to 45/45 and adding 10% silicia fume, besides a stronger concrete?...

I have got a bunch of questions on concrete mix that aren't easily answered through searching.

Re: Anybody here who's afraid of heights, and if so...
I don't find myself in many situations where my fear of heights really kicks in, but when it does I look at it as a challenge to overcome. Sometimes I think if I treated every problem in life the way I treat being on a tall ladder I would be way more successful than I am.

When I saw the pictures of the two guys I figured they were the typical gun board enthusiasts who buy anything and everything tactical in the hopes people will assume they are some kind of spec ops guy.

I'm starting to think Olympic lifters have been doing the split stance wrong all along and it is actually done by putting your feet out to the side. I understand sometimes shit form happens, I just can't understand posting up videos and pictures of it everywhere.

I guess long term Hawaiian climate doesn't allow you to detect sarcasm regarding situations involving temperatures below 32 degrees. Non-sarcastic explanation, bitches be crazy.

In the northern states they often put salts on the road to melt the ice. The problem is it forms salt water which when kicked up on a windshield it forms a white film that wiper fluid doesn't always do a good job of cleaning off. So you have to use more extreme measures to clean it off.

I have been using this regularly also. Although I cut the suggested coffee use in half. For the really slight decrease in coffee quality it is worth it to have your coffee last twice as long.

I have noticed that sometimes I get an alert saying so and so has liked your page but I have more likes than alerts and I guess this is based on privacy settings. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I see a ton of stuff like "like and share this page to enter our contest". I figure interacting with the pages I have liked is a good idea as long as it is something like "Good job!" and not "Good job, and if you would like me to sell you som...

I had a short conversation with a gym owner who does crossfit-ish training about business and how crossfit is her biggest competition. I asked if she thought affiliating would be worth it just to be able to put crossfit in her name. She didn't think so as she has gotten a good bit of business from p...
