Re: True Detective Season 3
It's interesting. But I can't understand what Mahershala Ali is mumbling most of the time, which cuts into how compelling it is. Season 1 was riveting. Season 2 was unwatchable. This season is in-between. I'm hooked, because I want to see what happened/happens. But not loving it the way I did s1.

Eve Gracie is hot like fire. Jesus Christ. Eve Gracie is still hot like fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAh0cU1J5zk I could watch her practice bridges all day. As a side note, I think Rener is a great instructor. Every time I watch a teaching vid of his, the clarity he brings is exceptional.

I've been recommending Google Keep for a few months now. It's made a huge difference and it's a free, easy to use, app. I still keep a physical notebook and use Google Calendar, but organization and limitations inherent in those platforms made adding Keep a no-brainer for me. Google Keep is flippin...

Football. Size/speed/etc has improved dramatically. Basketball. Not sure. Oh hell yes on basketball. It's obscured a little bit by the central importance of skills ; there's always a place for the player who can shoot and dribble. And a lot of basketball skill is cognitive; "vision", spat...

Re: I'm obessed about learning languages
How are you going to learn to use genitive, dative, or accusative word forms if you don't know what they are and when they are appropriately used? Try and see how far you get in German, Russian, Romanian, or Hungarian. You've got a kid, right, about 9 or 10 yrs old? Did he/she start with grammar? M...

My wife & I took the 9yo to see it. It was really great. Terrific story, interesting style. We may have liked it more than the kid did. My wife loved it. She wants to see it again! She also bought the soundtrack on her iPhone (lot of hip-hop). For those wondering, it involves a crossover of a bu...

if you want my opinions on this, I'll tell that Duo-lingo is a beginner's App. Pimsleur is better for beginner pronunciation and speaking. So wait, are you saying that Duo-lingo is pretty good, and Pimsleur is better? Or that Duo-lino sucks and Pumsleur is decent? Basically, "What works?"...

Family grief?
Anyone got any recommended resources on grief in the family? Like, how to be useful if your sister's child dies, or your daughter's husband dies, or that kind of thing?

Bill Clinton's relationship with a billionaire pedophile will be thrust into the spotlight once again in a major book by a bestselling author released just weeks before the presidential election. The former president will face renew...

Kickass and excellent. WW2 movie, a band of paratroopers drop behind enemy lines the night before D-Day to knock out some crucial anti-aircraft tower in a small town. They discover a Nazi lab where horrifying experiments are being conducted.... Super fun. Great action. The white guy with the beard i...
