Re: Kennedy's Death

I was two months shy of my fourth birthday and the Kennedy Assassination was the first news story I remember. I remember my Mom and older sister watching the funeral on TV and I remember, (I think) a full page photo of Oswald on the cover of the (NY Daily News?) newspaper. I think I remember those t...

Re: New Lance Armstrong book - 'Wheelmen'

I never followed the LA story in detail, just the headlines. Issues of PED usage -right or wrong?- aside, there is one part that always struck me as just plain wrong, if I understand it correctly. Please correct me if I'm mistaken: OK, I get that LA denied usage and called his accusers liars. I get...

Re: Running/Rucking apps

Well, shit. When I started running again, I decided to run for time, not for distance. It simplifies things. Psychologically much easier. It's not as if anyone's paying to do this, after all, and all I really want is to be out in the fresh air and being consistent from day to day. That' cool but......

Re: Breaking Bad - Final Season *Spoilers*

Walt righted the ones he had wronged. Killed the 'bad guys'. Got killed, showing crime doesn't pay in the end. Something for everyone. I was surprised Lem didn't turn up in the last episode and get killed. Ultimately, Walt was kind of a (tragic) super-hero. He eventually outsmarted and beat EVERYON...

Milosz...not doubting you, just trying to understand...why would the money be forfeited? Has it been tied conclusively to any criminal activity? I suspect the IRS could claim massive tax violations as well as take a huge bite out of it. Further on that, I guess Walt could be guilty of tax evasion b...

Thanks for that link Bram. Interesting. The writer's meetings must have been terrific. Regarding this Sunday's finale, as I commented above, it is like the end of a great novel. Bittersweet. On the one hand, I can't wait to see how they treat the various loose ends (for example, the way Walt "t...

Re: The Wolverine

Claremont & Byrne hit the vein of gold in the late 70s / early 80s. The Claremont/Miller limited series didn't appear until about two years after the "Days of Future Past" storyline. By that time we'd already seen the revelation that Wolverine didn't wear the claws, they were part of ...

Funny. I bet you're right, but it is possible. I heard the "Better Call Saul" show is a pre-quel (sp?) to BB, so maybe Saul does get mowed down/blown up but, again, I doubt it.

No. Not @. It was -S-.

Bram, my Breaking Bad Brother: I watched last night's episode: Does drama get any more intense ? Unbelievable! and...another cliff hanger. (Also, another "loose end" tied up, i.e. Jane's death.)

I also found Jesse's realization b/f being shuffled off to a new identity and opting instead to go slug Saul confusing. My obsession w/ BB led me to the AMC sight and reading some commentary. As I understand, the writers tried to convey Jesse's realization to the audience the same way he experienced...

I was in Beijing. Rarely have I heard such loud cheering. Seriously?!? There were people celebrating right here in NY that day. A lot of shit went down around the area that got swept under the rug. I could tell stories and you would just think there's no way that could be. Just one: They came out o...
