Re: DD Catalog on Prime Video

I guess all that, "Comrade" stuff helped PT distinguish himself from a crowded field, but it is so old and tired at this point.

What would a rucking PR look like?

For me it would be completing a long walk without having to take a shit in someone's yard.
You must be popular in your neighborhood.

...I'm doing more HH work. But as I've done that I've come to question a lot of the conclusions the good doctor Leonard Schwartz came to. Interesting to me that Trump did not embellish the announcement with any, "he died like a dog" sort of delivery. (At least I have not heard any.)

Re: It's a Wonderful Life

I have not watched it in some time, but one detail I've thought about many times over the years is when Donna Reed takes Jimmy Stewart to the old, broken-down house that, against his, "travel the world" fantasies, will become their home, and as he ascends the stairs, the post cap of the stairway rai...

Re: Pavhole on Rogan

Funny to me that Pavel's (public anyway,) persona, is that he is a hard ass. (e.g., "The dishonor of aerobics". dissing on Pilates, etc.) Yet, he is "afraid" (what else could it really be, with the exception perhaps of knowing that "mystery" keeps him interesting to some,) to simply state his age? Re: Pavhole on Rogan

Many of us here remember when DragonDoor / Pavel & CrossFit were in their early days of internet-fueled popularity. I find so much of this discussion fascinating. Not important, but fascinating. We all have known great athletes who struggled, post-glory days, to earn a living. Then, amazingly, IMO, ...

Thanks Spells.

Interesting.

I skimmed but have not read fully yet the article you linked.

So, is IR the latest round of Snake Oil?

Why are you drawn to it, or are you merely curious?

Re: IR Sauna

This is somewhat off-topic, but not entirely, I don't think. I don't know as much as I'd like about the claimed benefits of IR, or even traditional, nor the science supporting such claims, though I think, "detoxification" as a benefit of perspiration is generally deemed conventional wisdom. (If some...

Re: Foundation Training: Core Elements

Disappointing that the 12 minute video has been pulled down. I did it daily for a few months a couple years ago. I did not have any "throw away your crutches" type of faith-healing miracles as described in some of the comments, but I did it enjoy it as a way to insure some daily mobility/stretching ...

Re: Pavhole's new book is out today

For those who have read Pavel's latest work, a question that is beside the point of whether the methodology works well or not. Since departing Dragon Door, has the over-the-top "Comrade," ("Evil Empire," "One Mississippi, Two Mississippi...One Volga, Two Volga") and, "X is for sissies", etc., sort o...

Re: TheHappyBody.com

I think the happy body people are right that strength is important and training to maintain and build muscle is vital to aging well. I think they are right that stretching/flexibility/mobility is important. A good yoga program, or tai chi, or jumpstretch bands, or whatever is also vital to aging we...

Spells & Fats, I can't point to any data, just anecdotally, I think many karateka ("many", i.e., disproportionate to % of population, etc.) end up needing new hips. Might a bazillion kicks be bad?

Re: Only endurance exercise slows down ageing

Sangoma, I have only perused their website and book offerings on Amazon, not read their book(s), but from what I glean, they feel endurance exercise overall is not good for aging well, not just running. Yes, your comment, i.e., "not being good at it", might still apply but, and I say this as more of...

I would say light enough so you don't perform a valsalva maneuver (holding your breath and trying to push out). Ryan, thank you for the info.
