Re: China is the Enemy

People are finally waking up to how much China hid from the world while this whole thing was flaming up. Now we could be looking at millions dead around the world because governments were under prepared. No excuse for any government to: 1) Not be 100% prepared with a plan to mitigate a pandemic. Tha...

Re: Wu Flu

Auto shops are slowing way down.
We're a high end independent, so we haven't been totally laid off yet, but I hear dealerships are a ghost town.
Economic impact from this is going to make 2008 look like the good old days.

Wahoo tickr and phone app. Works with running watches and C2 rower too (PM4/5) That's actually the route I'm going to end up going, but didn't want to suggest it here because it's not a stand alone deal. I have a Wahoo bike computer and a Wahoo smart indoor trainer that both blue tooth the Ticker s...

Re: Heart Rate Monitor Recommendations

I've got the H7 and the OH1. I use the H7 for HRV/RHR readings I use the OH1 for training now, since it's a lot less hassle than the H7. The OH1 is an optical on that goes around your forearm or upper arm (or other places)...it's more useful for me for rucking and cardio due to it's more forgiving ...

Thanks for posting Turd. I've never done the Swenson sequences. Definitely going to sub these in for my usual yoga routine and give them a go.

We're on Stay At Home orders now, with clearance to go out for outdoors activities while avoiding be close to people. We're under the same orders here. Shelter in place but can exercise outside. I've said fuck it and taken to indoor riding full time and do my KB/BW and go for walks outside. I've re...

Re: N-95 Masks from Dragon Door

Hopefully the first timers will get some free range time and a safety course or something. But you know they won't. It's like getting a motorcycle license when you're 18. Nothing to stop you from going out with near zero real world experience and laying down less than the cost of a Civic and riding ...

Re: N-95 Masks from Dragon Door

There is this idea people often have that a given person will only be so big a piece of shit. They think that there's only so far someone will go. This is a dangerous idea. If a person is beyond a given point, hard to quantify exactly but I think it's a real line, then there's nothing he won't do. ...

I have a serious mask for fumes here at work. Plenty of cartridges for is as well. Look totally badass wearing that out.

Re: Holding your breath: a measure of lung health?

I'm a pretty fit dude. Not sure of VO2max, but I know I can hold ~300 watts on a bike for an hour. That's not world class, but it ain't no joke. And there's NFW I could hold my breath for near that long. I think meditative techniques that lower the HR and other autonomic responses and specific train...

Re: My State Has Gone Full Fucking Clownship

Liberty University is returning from Spring Break and will be back on campus to live if they want to, although they are doing distance learning. It'll be an interesting experiment. The virus should rage through the campus lickety-split, but its all young kids mostly (sorry professors) and then they...

Re: Wu Flu

Looks like we're going to go with a fast burn on this thing. Trump is taking his marching orders from Fox news and Wall Street. Sounds like he's going to tell the US to go back to business as usual next Monday. I just hope our 180 million infected and 2.2 million dead (projected numbers I've read on...

I'm going for a greaser, motorboy thing until this blows over. Might start carrying a switchblade, IDK. Hmmmmm.... Seeing as how I turn wrenches on cars for a living, that might be a better option for me. I've already got the work pants, shirt with my name, and black boots. Just need to roll a pack...

You going to try and corner the local Power Bear market, or take my route and go after the Hipster/Skinny Jeans segment? I think if I grew my hair out a bit so I could do one of those slick pomade styles I could pull that off. Or were you talking about maybe actual wimmins paying for services? I cou...

Funny (not in a good way) that three of the countries you mention are subject to some of the harshest sanctions by the western world, led of course by the US. Not that I agree or even sympathize with their governments. Economic warfare of that sort starves and deprives average citizens, not it's lea...

Re: Alright MOFOs, let's get constructive

I sincerely hope this virus doesn't knock us down near that far in regards to body count or complete societal collapse. I'd imagine a total lock down and rationing until it died down long before that. I'd also say that the infection rates in the US are MUCH higher right now are known. One mathematic...
