Alexis Stevens at WTXL.com reported:WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)–A police dog is found dead in a patrol car in Worth County, Georgia. The situation has some south Georgia residents outraged. Police say it appears 10 year old Sasha had been in her handler’s SUV for several days.
The police report states that Lt. T.J. Frye said Sasha must have let herself inside the Chevy Tahoe while he was out of town. What really has the community upset is that he and another man buried the dog in his backyard.
It’s a disturbing image former police officer Eugene Bedal says he just can’t get out of his mind, a dog fighting for her life.
“I was heartbroken,” said Bedal. “It really upset me the way the dog died and locked in a police car where she couldn’t get out and to see how she destroyed the inside of the car tore me up.”
Police say it it looks as though Sasha tried to get out of the Tahoe breaking the rear view mirror and chewing a seat belt.
Lt. Frye came home September 3 to find Sasha, the narcotics dog dead inside his Chevy Tahoe.
Eugene Bedal says he orchestrated Sasha’s move to the Warwick Police Department after she retired from a south Florida law enforcement agency so she could continue working.
“She was doing what she enjoyed and I had promises from the city the dog was being taken care of,” said Bedal.
Now Lt. Frye has resigned.
“Our police chief has wrote letters to the GBI and Sheriff’s office and the investigation is in their hands,” said Warwick City Attorney Tommy Coleman.
Bedal wants an investigation done but he says more importantly he wants a proper burial for Sasha. He says she was not only a police officer but a hero.
A Facebook group called “Justice for Sasha” has gained a lot of momentum. The goal of the page was created in hopes that Sasha’s body will be exhumed and an autopsy performed so her exact cause of death will be revealed.

Officer Friendly goes to Career Day...
http://rt.com/usa/news/taser-boy-playground-webb-611/According to the complaint filed on behalf of the child, "Defendant Webb asked the boy, R.D., in a group of boys, who would like to clean his patrol unit,” when the officer came to the school earlier this year. "A number of boys said that they would. R.D., joking, said that he did not want to clean the patrol unit.”
Defendant Webb, the complaint suggests, responded by pointing his Taser at R.D. and saying, 'Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police.'" The officer then allegedly fired two barbs from the device at the child’s chest, penetrating his shirt.

My instructor showed the video, and then asked the students how they they thought he handled the situation. Then let everyone know that it was handled completely wrong, and told us that officer was suspended for instigating.
The video was used as an example for the class on how not to act. I find it funny that it's posted on reddit as an example of how the police should act.
Interesting stuff.
Cop here. By allowing the driver to take control of the "conversation" he ended up spending way, way too much time on the side of the road. With your back to an active highway, it's a dangerous position to be in, and we're generally trained to shorten the amount of time in that position as much as possible (which is why, if I stop you on a highway, I won't indulge you in a lengthy conversation about the merits of the particular statute for which you're being cited.) It's dangerous for the driver, as well.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Officer Friendly keeps it clean and dry.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... z2BVQrT9NnA hefty fine for such a wee pee. A 3-year-old boy got his mother a $2,500 ticket in Oklahoma for going pee-pee in his own front yard. ”I said really, he is 3 years old, and (the officer) said it doesn’t matter – it’s public urination,” grandmother Jennifer Warden said.
Talk about a big-ticket bathroom break!
An Oklahoma mom got fined thousands of dollars when her 3-year-old son pulled down his pants to urinate on the family’s property. The potty-training toddler’s effort to not wet himself earned his mother a $2,500 ticket, the family said.
The boy, Dillan, was playing in their front yard on a rural road in Piedmont when nature called.
“Dillan pulled down his pants to pee outside, I guess, and the cop pulled up and asked for my license and told me he was going to give me a ticket for public urination,” Ashley Warden, the boy’s mother told CBS Oklahoma City affiliate News 9.
The officer told the family that just because the child is only 3 does not get them off the hook, according to Dillan’s grandmother, Jennifer Warden.
“I said really, he is 3 years old, and (the officer) said it doesn’t matter – it’s public urination,” Warden said.
The same police officer allegedly parks down the street from their 2.5 acres of property every day. When asked why he does this, the officer responded that it is a “public street and he wants to, so he can,” according to Warden.
“I am disappointed that the officer thinks,” she continued, “what he needs to do with my tax dollars is sitting and harassing our family.”
The family intends to challenge the ticket because, they claim, the boy did not actually finish the act, reported News 9.

Spells that officer was up being looked at for use of force issues hence the camera in his car at a time that there weren't many cameras going around. And he lost his job a few months later over a use of force issue.
BD, the mayor and chief of police apologized to the family and through out the ticket. I think the cop may have been disciplined. It's a bullshit ticket. You talk to the parents and say hey tell them to pee in the backyard. You can't legally write a 3 year old a ticket anyway in this state.

On Nov. 14, NYPD officer Lawrence DePrimo, who was on counterterrorism duty in Times Square, saw the older homeless man without shoes sitting on 42nd Street. DePrimo, 25, left and then returned with a pair of $100 boots he bought at a nearby Skechers store.
"It was freezing out, and you could see the blisters on the man's feet," DePrimo, a three-year veteran of the department who lives with his parents on Long Island, told the New York Times. "I had two pairs of socks, and I was still cold."
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/nyp ... 19581.html"The officer said, 'I have these size 12 boots for you, they are all-weather. Let's put them on and take care of you,'" Foster wrote. "The officer squatted down on the ground and proceeded to put socks and the new boots on this man.

No admitted wrongdoing.....we move on....In 2009, dashcam video showed Steed stun-gunning Ryan Jones, a motorist who was later determined to be sober.
The case was settled in November 2011 when the state paid Jones $40,000 without admitting wrongdoing.
When asked about that case, Skordas [her attorney] said, "She took her lumps, she was reprimanded and we move on."

I know her lawyer is cover for her but yes it does. It impeaches every testimony she has given and every testimony she can give. She may as well go find another field to work in since she'll heve be able to testify in court again."It doesn't affect her credibility. It affects the way she does things, her ability to follow instructions," Skordas told ABCNews.com in March. "It doesn't mean she's dishonest."

LIBERAL - Robert A. Buchanan is no longer an officer in the Liberal Police Department, after the Dec. 18 discovery of an outstanding arrest warrant for Buchanan.
The employment termination date was Dec. 24, according to Sheena Schmutz, human resources director for the city of Liberal.
Buchanan was accused in late 2009 of not returning a Dell laptop computer to his employer, the oil-services company Schlumberger. The company is in Elk City, below the panhandle in western Oklahoma.
"Several attempts have been made to contact Robert on his personal cellular phone and at his local temporary residence but were unsuccessful," a reporting person for the company told Oklahoma authorities, according to the affidavit.
On Jan. 25, 2010, an arrest warrant was filed in Beckham County, Okla., stating there were "offense(s) committed/anticipated charges(s)" of embezzlement.
On Dec. 18, Buchanan was in Hays, because he and another officer were transporting a prisoner. A vehicle hit the Liberal police car, and a check of Buchanan's driver's license turned up the outstanding warrant.

Re: Officer Friendly.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/1 ... lp00000003SPOKANE, Wash. -- A police officer was sentenced Thursday to more than four years in prison for using excessive force against a mentally disabled janitor who died after being erroneously suspected of stealing money from an ATM.
Officer Karl F. Thompson Jr., 65, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Fred Van Sickle to four years and three months for his role in the 2006 death of Otto Zehm.
On March 18, 2006, police received a report that a man matching Zehm's description might have stolen money from people at an ATM. Surveillance video showed that Thompson found Zehm inside a convenience store and immediately struck him repeatedly with a baton and shocked him with a stun gun.
Other officers arrived and hogtied Zehm, put a rubber mask over his mouth, and sat on him. It was later determined that he had not committed any crime.
His last words were: "All I wanted was a Snickers bar," according to trial testimony.

This one was bad enough to warrant at least the headlines....
Chicago pays $22.5 MILLION to woman who was gang raped and plummeted from seventh story window after police failed to take proper care of her
City agrees today to give the staggering sum to Christina Eilman who was released from police custody into a high-crime area where she was gang raped and plummeted from a seventh floor window
Eilman, who is bipolar, should have been taken to a mental hospital for an exam but cops ignored NINE phone calls from her parents
The woman, who is now 27-years-old, suffered permanent brain damage from her fall and now needs constant medical attention
The settlement is the largest in city history
Chicago also paid out $10.25 million today to Alton Logan, who spent 26 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit
He alleged that police withheld evidence that would have set him free decades earlier
Police commander involved in his case was later sent to prison for lying about torturing suspects

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – An Adams County man is in shock after he says deputies shot and killed his dog.
Jeff Fisher said deputies went to his house by mistake. He said when they forced their way through the door his dog Ziggy ran outside and an Adams County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed him.
“(He went to the door) to see who it was and the police officer shot him three times,” Fisher said. “They killed my dog for no reason.”
“I called the dog, he turned to come back to me and the police officer opened fire,” said Fisher.

http://reason.com/blog/2013/01/22/color ... mal-crueltA Commerce City, Colorado cop who shot a three-year-old mixed-breed after responding to a call about a vicious loose dog appeared in court today to face one charge of felony animal cruelty. The cop, Robert Price, was caught on camera, by a neighbor with a cellphone, shooting the dog, Chloe, five times while he and two other officers tried to restrain it. The officer appears to pull his gun out early on in the incident (video below). The police union, naturally, is coming to the officer’s defense. From the local NBC affiliate 9 News:
The Fraternal Order of Police says Price is wrongly accused, and they showed up to support the officer.
