I figure during certs Couch is let off his internet leash.
I just thought of someone...even though Couch has a bad leg, should that prevent him from doing a lot of upper body and ab stuff.
Survey sez NO.

No time between taking credit for everything from the first sub 4 minute mile to last year’s upset victory in the Super Bowl and then there’s always happy hour, cocktail hour, after dinner drinks and of course a night cap or two.Shaf wrote:I figure during certs Couch is let off his internet leash.

Couch also invented fermentation.

You gentlemen need to stop posting on the "Ante Up" thread and stay focused on priorities.

took yesterday off...today, a BFL (Body For Life) aerobic day. Find myself in far better running/aerobic/anaerobic shape now that N ever was just doing standard training. Feels great!

Re: The couch thread
My post from the @ssfit Deception thread
Glasshole has always been a douche bag in my eyes but he was dead to me when he ostracized Dan John.I hate to sound like a broken record.
But gawddamn I fucking hate @ssfit, Glasshole, and the Kool aid swilling zombies.
Glasshole touts his handful of over achievers as proof of his genius and compares his douche bags to actual giants in real sports.
It doesn't matter what time Jerry Rice or Joe Montana can do on Fran. They've performed under pressure in pro sports environments.
And Glasshole talking about Larry Bird's conditioning is straight up Blasphemy. Larry Bird was the king of the court. Glasshole is a gin swilling fat ass megalomaniac that never made it past the lowest level of competition.
@ssfit is a safe haven for the nerds that didn't have the balls or the very minimal skill to play sports as a kid.
I was a mediocre athlete and yet I still train and have fun with it because I don't want to be one of those pukes that peaked in high school. But the losers that cling to fitness as sport are so fucking sad.
If you don't lift in a meet you aren't a power lifter or an Olympic lifter. If you don't race you aren't a runner, biker, or rower.
And you aren't a fighter if you don't actually take part in a sanctioned fight.
You aren't a wrestler/grappler/submission specialist if you don't fucking compete.
No body gives a fuck about how many kipping pull ups you can do or how many shitty cleans with a 45# bar you can do.
I have more respect for competitive eaters and kids who take part in scripture memorization competitions than douchebags who think fitness is a sport.
Fuck LARPer's rate higher than @ssfit Zombies.
Crossfit is a decent training program but the fucking douchebaggery is too much.
I rate the Kool Aid swilling zombies right up there with the fat lazy motherfuckers I work with that are quick to tell me how they were so much stronger than me or in better shape than me when they were in high school but they can't even walk the 2 blocks to the fucking free gym when they are at the motel.
And yet all these "high school studs" will never be able to reach my mediocre level of fitness because they have no fucking heart and can't look at themselves as the losers that they are.
Gawdamn I hate @ssfit.

Re: The couch thread
Ed,
Thanks for bringing your prose over from the other thread.
Actually, Dan kept posting over at x-fit for about another 9-10 months, like nothing happened. Eventually, he was banned, after he stopped posting. My account was also banned or removed, but I stopped posting after a week or so, during the heavy fighting.
If anybody has any questions, just reread this thread.

Jim,
I don't know why you changed your handle, but I do love the "Ed Zachary" name.

Re: The couch thread
Today's workout is a perfect example of retarded, illogical programming. It is constant overprogramming of this type of a workout that has me completely convinced that following the mainpage will lead to nothing but what Pavel talked about in his post from DD a long time back:FRIDAY 080627
3 rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
1.5 pood Kettlebell swing, 21 reps
95 pound Thruster, 21 reps
21 Pull-ups
Post time to comments.
That post had several other points which clearly show collateral support for his critique.High intensity training (regardless of how intensity is defined) is used for a short term for peaking. Used over a long haul it leads to injuries, overtraining, and plateaus.
I've been spending the last several weeks trying to recover from blindly following the WODs and am only now starting to be able to train without constant fatigue, pain, and malaise. What's more is I actually feel up to training for sport (BJJ) which I haven't been able to really hit hard since XFitting for so long...
Argh. Pisses me off.
So far I've taken a full week off, and am introducing Dan's Southwood Program at very modest loads to allow for more recovery and will slowly be ramping back up to full speed. Haven't felt this good in a LONG time.
Re: The couch thread
PS - AND another point on what I'm talking about. This all goes back to the coach doesn't play debate deeper in the thread. This is one reason where actually having had some experience with the programming would help you see what you're doing to these fucking athletes.

Re: The couch thread
Then they act like devising crap like this is all scientific and shit. It’s just throwing shit together. It’s a recurring theme based on about 20 different exercises that generally favor lanky types. @fit is a great way to train if you like to fry your CNS, get injured and minimize strength gains. It has been said here time and time again that @fit is nothing more than bodybuilding for people that don’t want to bodybuild in the traditional sense. The aesthetic is different that’s all but it’s all about the aesthetic. That some @fitters “perform” well in these routines is incidental just like the fact that Dorian Yates could pull 700. @fitters with the look are the most revered. The look for both men and women is that of a well developed tranny.

Looks like Derek's asking for an on-line ass bruising. Mike Burgener, whom I have absolute respect for, might take exception to what Derek says but he would never post anything.
The other clones will pig pile on Derek's anus like Scientologists defending L. Ron.

One only has to look to how badly USAW gets spanked abroad to know they are relatively clean as far as PEDs.
