Periodization has become a bad word in CrossFit Land.
My optimistic view on this phenomenon is that it’s due
simply to widespread misunderstanding of what exactly
periodization is, how variable its implementation can
be, and not only its value when used correctly, but its
necessity in some form for anyone but the complete
beginner. The cynic in me, on the other hand, believes
this vehement aversion to periodization of any nature
is more a product of frequent bad-mouthing by
individuals in positions of authority who fail to grasp the
fundamentals and are much more willing to disparage
periodization and its proponents and claim a degree
of authority so extravagant it exceeds the intellectual
capacity of the totality of the world’s coaches and
athletes, rather than admit a lack of understanding
and spend some time learning from others.

Here's the thing with Tits. When your life revolves around a guy who dumped his gf because you were the hot new CF trophy girl of the day, what security can you have in your relationship and your life? WHat gives you confidence he wont jumpt ship for the next big thing?

And these are people who outwardly proclaim CF is their life, so how else can Tits compete but in the game of CF? Even the average chick is willing to take hormones for birth control, or get a boob or nose job for a wedding or photoshoot, so naturally those who are struggling to be "elite" won't hold back on the vitamin S.

There's always gonna be some hot, fresh 20 year with a dyno bod to make BBoy's mohawk stand erect. Plus coach is bringing in the porn sluts. How's Tits gonna compete? By juicing, and impressing us with her work capacity and machismo.

One thing I'll say about Shari, by 40 she's demonstrated she's got good longevity. There's a good chance in 5 years she'll look better at 45 than Titties does at 30, or however old she'll be. But, of course, it'll all be moot because BBoy will already be long gone - onto something fresher, younger, softer and more nubile.

I get it, fats, she's your girl and nobody messes with your girl.

But in a year or two, when you look at her and think of Lou Ferrigno, I'm gonna remind you she's your girl 4-ever!!!

And now, putting the RRG is pRRopaGanda...
http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/Cros ... nceRRG.mov

Let's see...considering how much trouble they're having doing the initial funding--15 days left!!! and not even 1/3 there--how do they think the (needed to start it) 500+ affiliates/trainers are going to vote when one numbnuts, unqualified, uninsurable, undereducated, overzealous, cliche-slinging, "@F-certified trainer" really screws up (ie. killz somebody d-e-d) and then everyone in the RRG has to decide whether to dig deeper into their pockets to save his ass OR to hang him out to dry? Really.

His ass will be grass and the RRG will leave skidmarks they'll run away so fast. [-o<

This is a fraud suit waiting to happen. Between this video and some of the other Crossfit materials you referenced earlier, there are times when these promoters describe the RRG as a company that will offer gap filler coverage for an affiliate or trainer to take care of, for example, certain endorsements that may apply to crossfit type issues like rhabdo. Then there are times when they describe this as the solution to an affiliate's or trainer's risk -- hiring specially trained lawyers to take cases all the way no-holds-barred. If an affiliate or trainer gets hit for a huge verdict and the RRG coverage doesn't cover the costs and liability, the affiliate or trainer will probably have a great suit against RRG and every promoter who pushed it, including Couch. (A side issue is whether this might run afoul of any securities statutes or whether insurance exemptions keep them out.)

The responsible way to do this would have been to have a full description of what costs of subscription will be, what the expected cost of coverage will be, the scope and limits of the coverage, how the company will deal with umbrella coverage, etc. Then they would have no huckster-style selling and would instead refer people to the accurate description of the RRG and the coverage it will offer. The only individuals who would promote the product would be trained on how to be accurate in selling. They've chosen the huckster approach over this.

I wonder, does couch realize the same thing goes both ways??? Tough to imagine the true numbers of @F haters out there...especially when he basically calls all of the posters "props" for his "larger purpose"...

That was another good article from Greg Everett, by the way - just finished reading it after taking a nap. I like his stuff. He tries so hard to beat the stupid out of CrossFitters. I think he might be preaching to the choir, since I doubt that too many Kool-Aid guzzling trainees subscribe to the Performance Menu, but it's still good stuff.

What did you expect, Greg? Anyone who knows jack crap about effective training knows that the shit spewing out of Couch's uninformed, unaccomplished, unathletic ass is complete retardation. Let's see....perfect form with PVC...total slop under load and further deteriation as they race to beat an arbitrary clock....a "Coach" with no performance background and no ability to demonstrate anything under any significant load whatsoever....no reasonable methods for pushing the force velocity curve upward or to the right...no effective means of building strength, which is the building block for most sport skills....no logical method for building reactive strength, starting strength, sprint speed, true power, etc, etc, etc. Three on at 110%, one off. Sheer genius.

BUT LOTS OF GAS IN THE TANK BABY!!!! PERFORMANCE DOMINATION!!!

fucking idiots

Greg's stuff is solid. He's one of the few dissenting voices over there that's still allowed onto the compound.

Gorilla, I think it's nice when fathers takes their boys to the gym, but that was a little extreme.

Which reminds me, aren't they long overdue for a very public, very acrimonious gin-soaked, foaming at the mouth purge of a high-ranking personality, or is His Excellency focusing on humiliating the cowed masses in a general sort of way?
