What was it that guy in the vid up there did? How many reps and in what time? I'll beat it, give a shout-out to IGx, and post it on YouTube.

It's Grace. 30 reps of 135lb clean and jerks for time. No specific form is specified for the cleans or jerks -- it's considered "ground to overhead anyhow," so most people power clean and push jerk, or whatever. Looks like he took 1:05, although some people are griping slightly about the ROM (not standing up from the jerk before lowering the bar).

The hypocritical bullshit spewed and endorsed by @FHQ about "virtuosity" and "slop" out of both sides of their mouth was the last straw for me.

There is no virtuosity in @F, or else there wouldn't be slop, and therefore no INTENSITY! Crock of donkey shit.

Can one really pukey too much at @Fit???
Client excessive puking...should I be worried?

Posted this here instead of the nutrition site because I know that there are a good number of PTs and other smart folks that visit the injury site.

I have a client who puked on his first visit. (He was doing a jump rope warm up). He is moderately overweight....So I chalked it up to the first day. No problems during the next 2 visits, then today he was extremely sick after running about 250yds. He was going to do a severly scaled version of the WOD, 3 rounds of run 250yds/20 sqts. He had done a warm up and this was the first 250. He got to the end, was feeling faint, then began puking on and off for about 20 minutes.

As I questioned him I found out that he is on Adderol (sp?) for ADD. He is 20. AND...He was taking Hydroxy cut. (None of this was previously disclosed.) I believe he may also be on an anti-depressant (he didn't give me a name, but I will get it tomorrow).

1. I believe I should tell him to get approval from his doctor before he comes back.
2. I told him to knock off the Hydroxy cut.
3. We had a serious talk about nutrition. (He is 20 and I think he is trying to cut weight by not eating, hydroxy cut and crossfit)

Questions:
1. Is it likely that the puking was caused by the ADD meds and the Hydroxy cut?
2. Should I tell him that I won't train him unless he gets a Doctor's note?
3. At what point should a client puking really worry me? I've read all the Rhabdo articles and I'm very familiar with heat related injuries, (I've crewed the Badwater, and been in the Corps for a long time) but I am still looking for some other guidance.

(FYI...he was warm and sweaty to the touch and not Cold/clammy or hot/dry...and he was lucid the entire time)

Thanks for any input.

If he is willing to stick it out, kudos to him. A lot of people would just quit. Offer him high praise. Maybe he will turn out to be a great success story.

And this is also an LOL:
Games hangover-normal?

I participated in the Midwest Games last weekend, and I'm feeling a little strange even a few days later. I was going at literally 100% for all 3 workouts-I don't really even remember anything about the first one, I was basically blacked out on my feet. I tried doing a light WOD yesterday-15-9-6 of 95 lb OHS and burpees-I was absolutely dead afterwards, but my heart rate shot way up and took an abnormally long period of time to slow down. I also noticed a metallic taste in my mouth, similar to what I get when I do Fran or Helen. I'm wondering if being so weak following an extremely hard workout is normal, and if so how long it takes to recover from it.

Thank you!

Where is that old(er) "crossfit" video of the dude doing BW bench reps and then giving crossfit the double finger, that must be in the thread, but, no, I have not read the couch thread B2E, it's time to repost that here...maybe it's still hyperlinked @ @ssfit in some thread containing all you banned dudes?

A. Ignore it. A nodal outlier.

B. Metallic? Is that the new word for it?

C. You are weak after a workout becasue you were weak before it.

You are welcome.

We can do a short sell against the RRG but someone would have to be willing to buy the shares. I don't think any investor would take that gamble.

Don't forget to get your copy of the new @F "Cult" classic: Every Second Counts. I think the subtitle wouldn't fit: "That's why we don't concern ourselves too much with form, strength, power, or anything else."

Not entirely accurate. More like, "We don't concern ourselves too much with form, strength, or power. Far more important modal domains include badass tats, substance abuse and indiscriminate promiscuity."

Although really, when put like that, I can see that we have some common ground.

Every Second Counts takes an inside look at the CrossFit culture and community, where time on a stopwatch reigns as the supreme measure of performance. Those who reach the elite ranks in the burgeoning sport of CrossFit
Might Couch's end game, that the minions are incapable of understanding, be becoming the new Dana White - except that Couch will own 100% of the new sport. Maybe the next Vince McMahon would be a better analogy. Couch may be all the reviled things he's called here, but the man has vision, focus, charisma (apparently), and ruthlessness just like Dana and Vince.

One thing is for damn sure...the guy is a good businessman. I'm starting to think he could sell water to a whale. "Welcome to the World Increased Work Capacity Across Broad Time And Modal Domains League." I wonder if they'll have a players union and all (The WIWCABTAMDLPA). Before each game, they'll sing the @F fight song, while saluting the @F flag, which will of course be flying above the US flag.

No. Couch probably hates the Games, but doesn't have any choice. After several years without producing CrossFitters who are good at any sports, he has to invent something they're good at or people will wake up and smell the stench of defeat.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

A gem from that discussion (that included some guy named Walsh):
Douche wrote:if he can do 30 muscleups in less than 7 minutes or a 5k in less than 20 minutes or Fran in less than 4 minutes or 28 rounds of Cindy, ill quit CrossFit and switch to his program. otherwise, i dont really care what he can do. we all have our strong WODs and our weak ones. the meaningful ones to me are those that exploit my weaknesses, not the ones that play to my strengths.
It was three years ago. Just the birth of the entire "What's his Fran time?" debate.
