No, he is not funny. He posts a novella each day, and it doesn't need to be reproduced here. Seriously. The guy will make you dumber if you read him. I can handle Bony Pudding's muddling explanations. I can handle half-naked shemales. But I can't handle regular Barry Cooper quotes. He'll drain your mind like Couch drains a bottle of Thunderbird.

I'm going with the theory that he's the greatest uber-troll ever, and this is a massive satire.

Barry needs to drop dead of a coronary since he can STFU or workout it seems.

When @Fers talk about other @Fers...
We have pondered the topic of hundreds of new “certified” trainers being pumped out every weekend and watched in curiosity as subsequent affiliates began popping up all over the nation. We had the same questions about the ability of these “certified” trainers and new affiliates, at times thinking the same things a lot of people think.
Things like:
1. These people are diluting the brand.
2. They are causing destruction to what CrossFit really is.
3. They are injuring people.
4. They don’t know what they are doing.
5. They don’t know how to program, they are bad trainers, they suck.

The list goes on and on. I have watched affiliates try to harm other affiliates, steal clients and trainers, and rip other CrossFit marketing out of the ground or off walls and buildings. I have watched verbal sparring on forums and blogs as people try to show how such and such is superior or inferior, all in an effort to cover their own insecurity.
LOL. #3-5 really cut to the heart of what @F is all about!!! I like the "certified" in quotes, classic. Is it any wonder these people can't get insurance?

Barry Cooper should be proud, actually...it's like they were directly talking about him in that last sentence!

So glad everyone's gotten on board with the Barry Cooper hate. This has been a one-man operation for a long time.

Don't miss his many free e-books! Such as this one, about Cultural "Sadeism," which I believe has something to do with these guys. Maybe not.

I thought he was a joke too but he has been making these same posts no-shit since 2003.

This guy just inadvertently described Couch.

I guess "ability to speak pseudoscientifical exercise-ese" trumps all though.

"Sybaritic leftism? Sadeism?" Isn't a Sybarite one of those vibrating saddle-thingys that women like to hump? So now they're being used by fans of de Sade? Or Sade? Smooth Operator?

I'm all confused.

Good news! If you live in the populous state of Montana, you might be able to get covered by the RRG in the next couple years. If Couch doesn't kill somebody first.

Those sorry fuckers are going to be sooo disappointed when they figure out that their $500k seed money went to some lawyers who are running up fees. No actual 'coverage' exists yet. LOL

As long as nobody steals his gin bottle, I doubt he'll kill anybody.

My g-d. The lawyers are making a killing off of the @Fers.
Base premiums for the professional liability are expected to be on the order of $1,050 for affiliates and $225 for trainers. Rates will be higher for those with larger annual revenues. The general liability policies offered through Endurance will have similar premiums.
It's getting damn expensive to be an @F affiliate these days:
  • $1000 "certification"
  • $2000/year affiliate fee, likely to be raised every year or two
  • $1000 seed money for the RRG
  • $1050/year for professional liability, which is increased if one makes more money
  • $? for general liability
Jeebus. $1000 bucks (and a normal trainer insurance policy) used to get a Level 1 and a year's worth of affiliate fees.

I heard from a buddy of mine that @F Hawaii only "hires from within". No wonder @F trainers are only getting worse and worse. A copy of a copy is always worse than the original.

1050 for insurance isnt out of line. My premiums are about 1300/year with my wife added as a trainer. That's for 3000 square feet and two on-site trainers. Insurance in TX is more expensive than other states.

Of course I didnt have to help fund the creation of my insurance company as a result of stupid shit.

And for the record, the WR is 1008 pounds. He is a little behind for how much he claims to know about everything.

Isnt there a Couch quote that states something to matter of "fitness is built on the edge of technique breakdown" or something close to that.

Then followed a few posts later by:
Barry Cooper wrote:Vladimir Zatsiorsky is someone I respect, and he says that you can increase maximal maximorum strength through the Repetitive Effort method, as well as Maximal strength training.
So he respects Zatsiorsky, but at the same time doesn't respect strength training and the science behind it?

He really doesn't understand that the concept of RE revolves around the idea that almost all available muscle fibers will be activated when you hit FAILURE in a designated rep range, and that the processes of failure via local fatigue vs systemic fatigue are completely different. That was a really poor reference on his part in an attempt to provide legitimacy to his post.

This guy is a dumbass and a hypocrite.
