@Fers warning other @Fers about the dangers of box jumps are popping all over the web:

The Twatosphere is humming with links to the first one today.

Re: The couch thread
Found the image. turns out he is doing a thruster.
So let me get this straight. Is this what a thruster is supposed to look like? An @fit traynor is couching a @fitHQ employee on how to do a thruster.

Athletes can be their own worst enemies. That's why they need coaches.I dig big chicks wrote:I'd Hit It wrote:Nonsense, how could doing a stupid high-rep snatch workout a few days before you are supposed to be competing in Nationals possibly be tied to you bombing your snatches at the meet?Stillwater wrote:Is the 12.2 workout the reason Lindsay Taylor bombed her snatches in Colombus?

Glenn didn't know about her doing it; he's, in his words, "extremely pissed".
One master's lifter I know who was a national champion in his youth was set to break a Canadian master's record.
He bombed.
When his coach was giving him shit he said, no lie "I don't understand, I made those lifts easy in training last night!"

Reading the blog she can't even realize why she fucked up her training doing that, maybe Glenn can explain her stupidity to herI dig big chicks wrote:I'd Hit It wrote:Nonsense, how could doing a stupid high-rep snatch workout a few days before you are supposed to be competing in Nationals possibly be tied to you bombing your snatches at the meet?Stillwater wrote:Is the 12.2 workout the reason Lindsay Taylor bombed her snatches in Colombus?

Re: The couch thread
So, that's an example of Mulvaney's "virtuosity"? Huh.
There was an unaffiliated crossfitter doing C&Js and double unders last night on my platform. He looked ok, until he split back onto the handle of his jump rope and smashed he knee into the ground...only a bruise. But he looked good until that point.

Light week of training = doing a 10min AMRAP snatch workout. Spoken like a true Crossfitter. There is nothing left to do now except wait. The taper bug is gone, I've settled into my light week of training and I'm ready to walk up on that stage with strong legs and an open heart.

As usual, the rules have been proofread with HQ's usual attention to detail. Much like their inability to convert lbs and kg.

The way Crossfitters approach these workouts is pretty damn funny. Do it like 5 days in a row, then do it for real. Lulz.

It's like the way I play golf. Take a few hacks at it. Find the one you can live with and declare that your real shot.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:The way Crossfitters approach these workouts is pretty damn funny. Do it like 5 days in a row, then do it for real. Lulz.
I shoot in the low 80s, but it probably takes me 120 cuts to get there.

Re: The couch thread
No no no. Before you play a round you have to go to the driving range and hit five buckets of balls. Drive each goddamn ball as hard as you can with no thought for hooks or slices or swing mechanics (after all, intensity trumps technique) or even whether the ball makes it off the tee, just fuckin' REEF on that club until your finger joints ache and you have stabbing pains in both shoulders. If you manage to torque at least one knee in the process from sloppy follow through, so much the better. Bonus points if you manage to hit your back knee with the clubhead on the follow through.Gin Master wrote:It's like the way I play golf. Take a few hacks at it. Only then, once you're battered and bloody should you try and shoot 18 holes. Just don't be surprised when you get kicked off the course for wearing Vibrams on the fairway.

I'm starting to get it. I also tend to spend around four hours playing a round. That has to go.WildGorillaMan wrote:No no no. Re: The couch thread
that's a serious bottom of the pack time. 18 holes shouldn't take more than 9-12 minutes.
have you ever been as far as even considered go want to do look more like?

I kinda want to see the dude drive his elbows off his knees hitting himself in the jaw with the bar and then continue to bite his tongue off... That's just me tho.

Shoreline....never disappoints. I love those mouthbreathing, inbred, de-evolved fish fitness people.
