There's dozens of tumblrs, pinterests (or whatever they're called) and blogs that post pics of Crossfit Chicks. It's a market with a highly elastic demand curve. Competition is good for business. so huzzah I say.baffled wrote:Has this been seen yet? http://crossfitbabes.tumblr.com/

Here's the latest R@@bok/@F commercial:WildGorillaMan wrote:It's not a question of if HQ will lose their own brand name, it's when, how badly, and who's going to do it to them: Reebok, Livestrong, or another contender we haven't even seen yet.
On a related note, I finally saw the Reebok Sport Of Fitness TV commercial. How come the name Crossfit was nowhere to be seen?

I saw this on prime time TV last night. The word @F is seen for barely a second, two times. The first time the full word isn't shown (pushed off to the side), the second time turned 90 degrees and quickly stomped on by some R@@boks.
Nice metaphor for what is to come. Heh.

Pay attention here...how can we write about @F by saying the word @F as few times as possible?

Oh noez...who owns the trademark on the term "The Sport of Fitness"?Behind-the-scenes at Reebok’s ZigTech Commercial
See how to take on any challenge any time.
It’s a true ZigTech challenge – a battle of the sexes between NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and 2011 Fittest Women on Earth Annie Thorisdottir.
The two elite athletes take on a WOD with CrossFit athletes including Josh Bridges, Chris Spealler, and Annie Sakamoto.
For Reebok’s 30 second commercial these athletes participated in The Sport of Fitness, completing one hour of wall balls, two hours of sprinting with sandbags, 150 thrusters, and 500 box jumps.
R@@bok, that's who.

Just a stylistic reminder for everybody: it's the Reebok Games whenever you refer to it. Don't include @Fit in the name.

And kudos to him for that. No, seriously, that's awesome. But Pro Tip: If Pukie keeps poking the bear and antagonizing The 'Bok by making fun of their shoes you might not get anywhere near as much as if you rub their bellies and keep them happy and stupid. Piss them off enough and they may just take it from you. You know they can.
Re: The couch thread
Serious questions: what would it take for Reebok to essentially devour Crossfit Inc.? If they wanted to buy HQ and fire the staff, could they? How much of Crossfit is actually trademarked and patented?

Re: The couch thread
I doubt there's a single thing they have that's patentable. As for trademarked, I'd imagine the name, logo, and probably the names of some their vanguard WODs.kreator wrote:Serious questions: what would it take for Reebok to essentially devour Crossfit Inc.? It's a pretty slim portfolio of intellectual property that they've managed to make so much money from. They've done well, in all honesty.....

Bok could be dead wrong on the trademark issues and still drive HQ into bankruptcy within a year of litigation prep. What's better is that Dale Saran would poop his pants attempting the actual practice of law.

Looks like they're trying to push the Zigtechs and realflex to the mass market. Haven't seen any commercials with the specially designed @fit nano shoes. What a duck says wrote:Here's the latest R@@bok/@F commercial:WildGorillaMan wrote:It's not a question of if HQ will lose their own brand name, it's when, how badly, and who's going to do it to them: Reebok, Livestrong, or another contender we haven't even seen yet.

When they do, they will carry a full range of clothing and shoes for the elderly fashion conscious Fireman. Cut off tees, and very short candy strpe shorts among other things. Ideal for doing Bokwads behind the Firestation with the boys.

That's because when you play a sport, especially a contact, collision, or combat sport, you find out very quickly that there are people out there who will put you on your ass in a big way.Jay wrote:Are you fucking kidding me??!!!Cave Canem wrote:http://crossfitlisbeth.com/2012/03/08/b ... elentless/
What is it with @fitters incessant need to spout this self affirmation crap ? And lulz at the comment "We are Rockstars"!
We have only one "motivational" quote at my gym, it's "STFU and train."
I played rugby for years and that's as close to relentless as a sport gets and we never said shit like this... ever...
Sometimes a Samoan is standing between you and the tryline. And he doesn't give a shit about stupid prose and self-affirmation.I will fight. I will struggle. I will scratch and crawl my way to that PR. I will keep going when I think I can’t. I will succeed even when it seems failure is the only option. I will count me in when others count me out.

Naaah, this woman gets it. @F's financial success is due to the shared (perceived) suffering of stupid people in large groups. She was smart enough to invest in four affiliates and then write a book about the fleecing operation. It's probably a good read for any gym owner.Cave Canem wrote:This shit never ends.......

Dr. Belger’s qualifications for writing this book are second to none. She’s a co-owner of four CrossFit affiliate gyms, a licensed psychologist and fitness coach as well as a mom of two young daughters.
