The best cats are the ones with some hunter in them - it's great to just watch them and see how close they are to just being tiny little panthers or tigers.
The last two cats I had were adopted from different litters but they clearly had experienced some differences in their early days - the female Calico was a natural at stalking and striking (she was declawed so watching her box the dog's nose was great - she'd get in a six slap combo before he knew what the fuck was up), she probably could have survived out on her own if she had claws; the orange male quickly got soft and fat and was clumsy from the start.
Cats are awesome, except for litter boxes, clawing shit and allergies. If not for the latter, I'd like a Maine Coon some day.

Maine Coons are awesome, even people who don't like cats like them since they act a lot like dogs.
