A fat joke... that's all you've got?

Christie, Jindal, Bush, Kasich, Perry, Huckabee, Pataki, and Walker are all former/current governors that are in the mix.

AFAIK O'Malley is the only one on the other side, and the IGx Dems want to all pretend he doesn't exist.

Seriously...Christie is insane.

there has never been nor will there ever be a person with such profound body disorders that is not mentally unhinged in some way. Christie is mentally ill. Worse than Reagan even.

He's quoteable for sure...so is Rosie O'Donnell. They fill a similar dress size and role in American Politics.

Lowering the cost of a college education is an excellent idea; making it free is not a terrible idea. However, it is a serious issue that deserves a serious solution-- Bernie is not giving us one.

"college education" is not a really useful term.

A free degree in media studies or psychology or anthropology etc != free degree in genetics or chemistry or comp sci.

But hell yes as to free trade school, hard science and pure maths degrees.

And one has to be committed to ending higher ed as a white women welfare program.

College is so expensive largely because of unfunded federal mandates foisted on people who aren't old enough to legally drink. If Bernie was serious, he'd attack those-- he isn't.

The sad thing is he has a real opportunity to do good things as the ranking Dem on the Senate Budget Committee, but he doesn't. He's a poor man's Williams Jenning Bryan.

University is so expensive because white women have used class and social anxiety to ratchet up demand for "degrees" to absurd levels. They are motherfuckers at moving that product and creating sinecures for themselves and their minority and LGBT allies...

There are no unfunded mandates here. Student loans are not dischargeable. They will all be paid back with interest unless remedial legislation is passed.

None of that explains the rise in cost-- from what I've seen, the supply of teachers in those programs and demand for those degrees is not so unbalanced to require the kind of subsidization by students in other degree programs the way you suggest.
Between 1975 and 2005, total spending by American higher educational institutions, stated in constant dollars, tripled, to more than $325 billion per year. Over the same period, the faculty-to-student ratio has remained fairly constant, at approximately fifteen or sixteen students per instructor. One thing that has changed, dramatically, is the administrator-per-student ratio. In 1975, colleges employed one administrator for every eighty-four students and one professional staffer—admissions officers, information technology specialists, and the like—for every fifty students. By 2005, the administrator-to-student ratio had dropped to one administrator for every sixty-eight students while the ratio of professional staffers had dropped to one for every twenty-one students.

Apparently, as colleges and universities have had more money to spend, they have not chosen to spend it on expanding their instructional resources—that is, on paying faculty. They have chosen, instead, to enhance their administrative and staff resources. A comprehensive study published by the Delta Cost Project in 2010 reported that between 1998 and 2008, America’s private colleges increased spending on instruction by 22 percent while increasing spending on administration and staff support by 36 percent.

A Wall Street Journal analysis of University of Minnesota salary and employment records from 2001 through last spring shows that the system added more than 1,000 administrators over that period. Their ranks grew 37%, more than twice as fast as the teaching corps and nearly twice as fast as the student body.

It isn't just administrative bloat, as the articles suggest-- it's that federal mandates has largely made them necessary. It's why I support Sanders' plan for perverse reasons-- if the feds want to mandate it, it should come out of their coffers.

Why do you think you are disagreeing with me?

Look man, I get your position. I really do. It is not fucking Heidigger or Husserl or a Zen Koan.

Economic activity is the highest order endeavor.

The money you receive in exchange for your "work" is earned. By going to "work" every day you support yourself and your family like a hunter in the wild.

That retirement account you have is the same thing as if you went out and wrested a freehold out of the wilderness or out from under the spears of savages.

Those who resent having to spend their days at a desk and avoiding the manufactured needs, pitfalls and traps laid out by corporations are the weak and deserve their punishment if they fall into the snares intentionally laid out for them. They are like those whose sword arm is too weak or will to dominate is insufficient.

The Brahmin/Aryan stands alone and proud in the middle of the market economy and does not fall to temptation. He tests his will and fortitude every day by not overpaying for insurance and not taking out too much non-commercial debt being offered by corporations who spend BILLIONS making said debt attractive.

Oh verily, never has an Aryan/Brahim stood so tall as he does in his suburban house looking out at all those weak willed neighbors who overpay for their insurance and cable and do not spend within their means. That is the highest order existence. This is the mighty end of history....

Please cut my throat.

I don't have any idea what a church would be making fried chicken for.

Neither do I care enough to figure it out.

You wouldn't know a hot chick if she pissed in your mouth.

Actually, it sounds like you haven't been successful in getting any chicks to pee on you.

Imagine that.

Perhaps you should start with something less invasive but similarly degrading.

Craigslist ads for average looking middle-aged women to slap you around a bit. Perhaps even call you names.

Baby steps.
