There are two ways for spies to alter the guts of computer equipment. One, known as interdiction, consists of manipulating devices as they’re in transit from manufacturer to customer. This approach is favored by U.S. spy agencies, according to documents leaked by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden. The other method involves seeding changes from the very beginning.

One country in particular has an advantage executing this kind of attack: China.

While we argue about stupid drunk fratboys and gender pronouns China has infiltrated Department of Defense data centers, the CIA’s drone operations, and the onboard networks of Navy warships.

Does anyone even have thoughts about the number one strategic threat to the United States? Personally, I think that a trade war, as a form of strategic disengagement of the American economy with the Chinese one is a good thing. I would invest in developing closer trade ties, and make up for manufacturing slack, with countries surrounding China like Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea. Philippines too, perhaps, now that Duterte is falling out of love with China. In doing so we could strengthen our first picket line of defense, diversify our supply chain, empower China's neighbors, and weaken their economy--all desirable outcomes.

One of the ways you avoid wars is to make them lose-lose. When you aren’t warring with a trade partner, where you hurt your own bottom line, you lose another reason to keep the peace.

I understand that under normal circumstances, a trade war is not desirable. However, if that adversary is a belligerent superpower; who has placed the entire South China sea under its military suzerainty; kidnapped the nation of Tibet and is replacing the native population; placed millions of Uighurs in reeducation camps; steals intellectual property at an unprecedented level; imprisons, enslaves and harvests the organs of Falun Gong members; conducts transregional economic warfare via its Belt and Road Initiative; and literally dozens more equally damning things...then I think you need to recalculate what is at stake.

China is trying to take over Asia, and then the world. They are a nationalist, socialist nation which controls the information, lives, and behavior of its citizens to an Orwellian level and we should confront them as a malevolent force for evil in the world. Using trade disputes as a way to force our own private sector to disengage with China over the long-term makes sense.

During this period, she and her husband, a very wealthy man named Blum, made several trips to the PRC to discuss trade relations. He has a variety of interests, but the relevant one here is a company called CBRE. Blum is a major shareowner and chairman of CBRE, now CBG, the world's largest real estate services firm.

At the time the FBI warned that she was being targeted for illegal campaign contributions by the Chinese government, who understandably were very big fans of Mrs. Feinstein. One Chinese bagman, Nanping-born John Huang, showed up at Feinstein’s San Francisco home for a fundraising dinner with a Beijing official tied to the People’s Bank of China and the Communist Party Committee. As a foreign national, the official wasn’t legally qualified to make the $50,000-a-plate donation to dine at the banquet:

As soon as China received permanent MFN status, she took an interesting step. A bill which she had introduced and was signed into law by Clinton, called the Desert Protection Act--which BTW did a lot of good by creating the the Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Parks and the Mojave National Preserve in the California desert--was used as the basis to shut down the Mountain Pass mine, which was the major source (97% of US market) of rare earth metals which I imagine most of you are familiar with; a group of 17 chemically similar elements crucial to the manufacture of many hi-tech products.

When this principal source of American rare earth metals was shuttered (despite its strategic value and high profitability), the only source became China. As it happened, Feinstein's husband Blum had positioned his company as the having an exclusive contract to import these materials from China. It turns out that this was a very lucrative position to be in, and Blum's wealth ballooned to more than $1 billion.

The agent reportedly was handled by officials based out of the People’s Republic of China’s consulate in San Francisco, which Feinstein helped set up when she was mayor of that city. He attended consulate functions for the senator.

The picture that emerges is that Feinstein has been the subject of very intense intelligence activity by the PRC for at least 25 years. Whether or not she was aware of all of it, she certainly knew about some of it, and she and her husband have made a great deal of money as a result of it. In this time when people are, very rightly, concerned about Russian attempts to interfere with our republic, I'm concerned that the number of players and the depth of infiltration is much, much more serious than we realize.

The Chinese military is expanding its collaborations with foreign universities, sometimes concealing its scientists’ military ties, according to an Australian report published Tuesday. The report raises questions about whether countries wary of China’s rising power are in fact directly contributing to its military advancement.

‘Sink two aircraft carriers’: Chinese Admiral’s chilling recipe to dominate the South China Sea

Beijing has a devastating plan to force the world out of the East and South China Seas — and it could cost the US 10,000 lives.

They’re the pride of the US fleet: enormous 100,000 tonne, 333m long nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. But Beijing thinks they’re Washington’s achilles heel.

Rear Admiral Lou Yuan has told an audience in Shenzhen that the ongoing disputes over the ownership of the East and South China Seas could be resolved by sinking two US super carriers.

Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA) reports Admiral Lou gave a wide-ranging speech on the state of Sino-US relations. The high-profile, hawkish military commentator reportedly declared the current trade spat was “definitely not simply friction over economics and trade,” but was instead a “prime strategic issue”.

His speech, delivered on December 20 to the 2018 Military Industry List summit, declared that China’s new and highly capable anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles were more than capable of hitting US carriers, despite them being at the centre of a ‘bubble’ of defensive escorts.

“What the United States fears the most is taking casualties,” Admiral Lou declared.

He said the loss of one super carrier would cost the US the lives of 5000 service men and women. Sinking two would double that toll.

“We’ll see how frightened America is.”

Rear Admiral Lou Yuan is deputy head of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences.

In his speech, he said there were ‘five cornerstones of the United States’ open to exploitation: their military, their money, their talent, their voting system — and their fear of adversaries.

Admiral Lou, who holds an academic military rank — not a service role — said China should “use its strength to attack the enemy’s shortcomings. Attack wherever the enemy is afraid of being hit. Wherever the enemy is weak …”

It’s not the controversial commentator’s first aggressive outburst.

And its part of a steadily escalating war of words between the two nations.

Earlier in December, the Chinese state-run Global Times published the views of a panel of such ‘military commentators’ concerning Beijing’s sovereignty claims over Taiwan and the East and South China Seas.

“If the US naval fleet dares to stop in Taiwan, it is time for the People’s Liberation Army to deploy troops to promote national unity on (invade) the island,” Admiral Lou said.

“Achieving China’s complete unity is a necessary requirement. The achievement of the past 40 years of reform and opening-up has given us the capability and confidence to safeguard our sovereignty. Those who are trying to stir up trouble in the South China Sea and Taiwan should be careful about their future.”

It was just one of a string of similarly hawkish views.

“The PLA is capable of taking over Taiwan within 100 hours with only a few dozen casualties,” said retired lieutenant general Wang Hongguang. “2018 is a year of turmoil for Taiwan, and a possible military conflict may take place in Taiwan soon. (But) As long as the US doesn’t attack China-built islands and reefs in the South China Sea, no war will take place in the area.”

Beijing has annexed several reefs in the South China Sea, engaging in an enormous geo-engineering project to build artificial islands upon which it has placed heavily fortified airfields and ports.

I hope you effete, America-hating types can appreciate that China is the true enemy of civilization and must be stopped at all costs. Problematic countries like Venezuela, Iran, and even Russia mean nothing in comparison.

As much as you may hate Trump, he is completely right to confront China and destabilize global trade with them. The sooner the U.S. disentangles itself from its economic ties to the People's Republic of China the better.

In 100 years, the voices arguing for re-normalization of relations will be viewed in the same light as those who argued for continuing economic ties with Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

China is the enemy of humanity, and worse, the enemy of Nature, and it is America's great destiny to destroy it.
