Reviving this thread. I got this little toy and so far am thoroughly impressed with it.
There are more advanced units around, such as Wicked Edge or Stprof. The latter, surprisingly, is manufactured in Russia and seems to be a top notch contraption. I am not as enthusiastic about sharpening knives so that I am prepared to dish out a thousand bucks for a sharpening machine. The one I got is around fifty bucks, plus another $25 for the set of diamond stones. Some parts are a little flimsy, and you have to check the angles from time to time. Good enough for the price.
