The Navy SEALS I trained with Pavel were all total studs when we got there. All hard as nails. We trained them 12 hours a day for 2 days straight and we were way more whipped at the end then they were. We were very mindful that we were not there to "teach" them how to get in shape. Hopefully we added a couple tools to their toolbox, maybe prevented a few training injuries down the road.

I've trained at a bunch of CFs, in I think 3-4 different states, and it's safe to say I didn't see a stud among them. Obviously they've got a few dozen among the thousands, who were also already athletes before they got there, they can trot out for clips.

As some one about to turn 50 I am not impressed by this clip which accurately reflects what I've seen:

That "clean" at 54 seconds hurts my back just watching it.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

The injuries in that video are worth about a page of the injury forum at XF.

At the bare minimum you need to make fun of him for pulling with bent arms from the word go, and using 20 10# plates to get 135# on the bar. =D>

Actually, I wish I hadn't watched it, but...what can you do.

The funny part, he came in 12th and I think his wife came in 5th or 6th.

IMO the only music appropriate for affiliate training vids is Frank Mills' "Music Box Dancer"

there's currently a caviston thread at nutfitness. glassman hasn't shown up, but a couple of true believers have weighed in, along with some guy, joey powell, who apparently is glassman's chosen trainer for the prescott nutfit box.

I'm rather ambivalent towards CrossFit actually. Anytime people exercise, it's much better than not exercising. However, if you live in a home with a garage, you can replicate most everything that's done at a "Box" for a fraction of the cost.

An Olympic set, a couple of stall mats, a portable squat rack, a couple of kettlebells and a pull-up bar is all you need. Want to get fancy? Throw in a medicine ball, jump rope and a sled.

Don't ever let people take a video of anything. We have all made some ugly lifts.

When I pull 500, I will have it videoed (?), and I will post it. More for proof that I did it.
There will be comments, none sought. Cuz when I lock it out, I will have accomplished something few of you here have ever done. And I'll be fucking 61, in work clothes, on the way to do a job.

I have videos of some of my best hammer throws. Some are beautiful, some are ugly, but all fall within a couple of feet.

I think was accused of pussyism for whining about getting sick after my 24 rounds of Cindy at 46 - and of course countless acts of traitorism for questioning orthodoxy, writing stuff for Performance Menu, and something about a cross post that started a long thread on an obscure training forum.
