Bad press about people who put pictures bloody hands and people puking all over blogs and brag about how much pain they are always in. The press takes that and puts a negative spin on it?

Serves those bitches who got rhabdo right, though. Even after all that shit they still want to go back? They deserve it.

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

I can't wait until that link pops up on the CrossFit message boards.CultBuster wrote:http://www.sfweekly.com/2009-07-01/news ... bootcamps/

After reading the comments on the article, I'm not sure what to say. I know Kelly Starrett himself is supposed to be a very good coach, but if he's hiring trainers that have given a total of 4 cases of rhabdomyolysis in the past 4 years, and he's expecting more cases, then that's terribly irresponsible.
The comments were bombarded with CrossFitters from all over, as to be expected. Of course though, the program isn't cult-like. They just have the strong bonds of "elite community."

Jason O'Dell said that todayIf she was in that much pain and things didn't feel right while working out why didn't she stop?
I mean you have to know your body. If you're in pain (and not the good kind of pain that comes from toughing through a workout, serious something is wrong pain) then why keep doing it?
Are her instructors really going to flip out on her because she thinks something is wrong? And if they do f*ck them.
Everytime I read a CF is dangerous article I think the person that was harmed should've stopped if they really felt that bad.

People keep saying this but I haven't seen anything to indicate it's actually the case.
So seriously, why is he good?

"Kelly Starrett" sounds like a chick pr0nstar name.
Taking out-of-shape oafs and giving them a bit of conditioning isn't an amazing accomplishment. Taking elite guys and making them even more elite is. This Starrett character has never done that.

I am a 2x Olympian and Kelly is my choice of THE GOTO GUY IN THE WORLD! There is no one better. There is no one who takes care of people better than he. This article is making you guys look so foolish.

I see what you did there.Eva T, you were a 2x Olympian IN THE 1980's. Suggesting a correlation between your skiing career and Cultfit is disingenuous at best. Fact is, you were off the scope completely until Couch Glassman discovered you and made your one of his poster girls.

The comments section is heating up.

Greg Glassman's was a good guy, except when it came to sharing his bottle of Safeway Gin and or a box of Little Debbies.
Back in the day when Greg and I were homeless, riding the rails of the USA, Greg would keep us hobos entertained with his story of Crossfit. Crossfit was going to be his opus magnum, the scam of a life time.
Back then all of us hobos would laugh at the idea of a gippy fat balding gin addict bilking yuppie and hipster trash out of hundred of dollars a month for work outs designed by a guy who's only workout was a huge painful bowel movement every week or so. Sorry to be graphic, but that's what a diet of packaged desert snacks and cheap gin will do to you.
I guess Glassman is having the last laugh.

I know that the RRG people were saying that @fit was under siege, but I didn't know that provisions were so low that they had to resort to cannibalism.

Re: The couch thread
It's CrossFit's version of Van Damme's flexibility training in Bloodsport. One of the trainers must've caught it on cable.WildGorillaMan wrote:I know that the RRG people were saying that @fit was under siege, but I didn't know that provisions were so low that they had to resort to cannibalism.

Mo' Rhabdo!!!!1
Idiot from nearby Chandler, AZ...
Idiot from nearby Chandler, AZ...
3rd workout and no trip to the ER...improvement!!!
Well i've been at crossit, in academic sense, for over a year. I've been reading the journals, watching countless movies lamenting my unchanging waistline and fitness. Finally I realized my at home workouts lacked the consistency and in retrospect intensity.
All of this finally put me in a new affiliate close to my house. My second time in the box landed me for a brief (30 hours) in the ER with a mild case of rhabdo. Fortunately that year of research on the main site helped me to recognize that coca-cola colored urine means go directly the Dr.
After almost two full weeks and a litany of blood tests, my cpk levels are back to normal and I'm back to hitting my workouts though much more gently...still kicking my butt though.
I guess my one word of warning from all this is that the deconditioned can get rhabdo! After all my reasearch I thought it was the big tough guys that get rhabdo not the tuby ones.
Start slow...even in it's mild form 30 hours on an iv and 2 weeks out of the gym sucks.

WHY THE FUCK DON'T THESE PEOPLE SUE?
Don't they realize that their "certified" trainers nearly FUCKING KILLED THEM WITH THEIR DOUCHEBAGGERY?
Seriously. If every rhabdomyolysis thread in the injuries board turned into a lawsuit...

Re: The couch thread
Guy at work just got into this nutbaggery. He can't talk about anything else. He keeps a daily log of photos of himself without his shirt on his phone, so he can show everyone his results. He is over 32 years old.
Never met a Christian with as much zeal to bring others into the fold as this guy.
Had lunch today with a woman he works with. She asked me if I knew anything about the "strange, boot camp, cult" he is in (her exact words).
