And the cherry on top is how as they dig deeper deeper this is going to backfire greatly on the Dems.

This is even better than I hoped for in November.

A year of investigation, including at least one FISA warrant, and we've got...Trump Jr was willing (not did, but would have) to listen to someone give him info on Hillary from Russia? That's it?

Have yet to see where anything, except Hilliary's poor decisions, personality, and baggage, cost her votes.

Gathering dirt on your opponent is part of the game. To wonder if Hilliary or Obama was in bed with the Russians after the Uranium One Deal or "tell Vlad I can be more flexible after the election" is logical.

When the talking heads opined that it is a campaign finance problem to pursue opposition research due to it's value, I knew the issue was moot.

Like everything else since November this is just the death kicks of a drowning party who knows neither an Indian Princess nor a n old Socialist is going to save them.

A far more important issue that impacts all of us is the split in the Republicn Caucus. One one hand I like the public negotiation of the bills as they go through their respective houses and then ultimately to conference, but lots of future ex RINO members showing their cards.

Fascinating times. And if Ruthie retires Trump's Presidency is successful if he does nothing else.

You know nothing did happen because Trump Jr and all the people vested in stating nothing did happen are saying nothing did happen?

Same folks who said meeting was about adoptions until hard evidence proved otherwise, and they had to become "transparent"?

Actually a lot did happen. The Russians learned the Trump campaign would gladly, willingly collude with them. Big data point.

Congress can and should force the issue by passing an even stronger version of the Magnitsky Act (with stronger laws and enforcement of money laundering via real estate purchases) and dare Trump not to sign it. My guess is that he would sign it FWIW.

I know right? It's so odd that a confidential counter intelligence investigation hasn't leaked any of its findings to the public.

I love your fucking ridiculous argument that because YOU don't know what happened means that nothing happened. That means that up til now, you didn't know that your youngest son is actually the mailman's oldest son.

We learned that the Russians were and are still desperate to get Magnitsky Act sanctions lifted; we don't know the Trump campaign (and by campaign I mean key players) was willing to collude with them, we just know that members of the campaign were willing to listen.
The Senate voted nearly unanimously on Wednesday to allow Congress to strip the president of the power to unilaterally lift existing sanctions against Russia, a matter that had many of President Trump’s allies siding with his harshest critics.

The measure, which was approved 97 to 2 — Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah, both Republicans, were the only votes against it — bolsters existing sanctions and would allow Congress to thwart any presidential effort to curtail sanctions without congressional approval.

So Trump allegedly had a second hour-long G20 private meeting with Putin with no Americans present. Faaaantastic.

In what sense does The Donald have anything as coherent as an "agenda"? He wants to make money and be acknowledged as having the biggest dick. And that's it, right?

In a remarkable public break with one of his earliest political supporters, Mr. Trump complained that Mr. Sessions’s decision ultimately led to the appointment of a special counsel that should not have happened. “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else,” Mr. Trump said [...] Asked if Mr. Mueller’s investigation would cross a red line if it expanded to look at his family’s finances beyond any relationship to Russia, Mr. Trump said, “I would say yes.” He would not say what he would do about it. “I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia.”

President Trump yesterday issued a stunning vote of no-confidence in basically everyone currently in a leadership position in the Justice Department, the FBI, or the special counsel’s office—in other words, not just some federal law enforcement, but all of it [...]
The president is evidently distraught at Sessions’s recusal from the Russia investigation “right after he gets the job.” (Sessions recused himself on March 2—three weeks after his swearing-in and fifteen weeks after his nomination.) The Attorney General gave the president “zero” heads up, Trump says. In Trump’s view: “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job, and I would have picked somebody else.” He twice describes Sessions’s decision as “unfair to the president,” seemingly unaware that his recusal was almost surely compelled by Justice Department recusal rules.

Congressional leaders have reached an agreement on sweeping sanctions legislation to punish Russia for its election meddling and aggression toward its neighbors, they said Saturday, defying the White House’s argument that President Trump needs flexibility to adjust the sanctions to fit his diplomatic initiatives with Moscow.

The new legislation would sharply limit the president’s ability to suspend or terminate the sanctions — a remarkable handcuffing by a Republican-led Congress six months into Mr. Trump’s tenure. It is also the latest Russia-tinged turn for a presidency consumed by investigations into the Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian officials, including conversations between Trump advisers and Russian officials about prospective sanctions relief.

Now, Mr. Trump could soon face a decision he hoped to avoid: veto the bill — a move that would fuel accusations that he is doing the bidding of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia — or sign legislation imposing sanctions his administration has opposed.
