Vietnam on History Channel

Post by KingSchmaltzBagelHour »

I am loving this mini-series. My dad and many of my friends' dads growing up served in this war.
These men went through hell. Much respect due.

Fucking A Right.

Sometimes it seems like they are forgotten these days. The Tactical lessons htey learned sure are as well as some of the politicol.

When I was a kid I'd allways here that because of Vietnam, if we went to war again we would go for the throat and not tie the hands of our GIs.

Wars are horrible period but I think restricting your men's rules of engagement and putting the lives of others above our GIs makes them worse and makes them last longer.

It's even worse when we just walk out of a country our Troops have pacified so another enemy can just walk on in.
I was surrounded by Vietnam vets as a kid and I am glad I was but I always feel bad that they were not allowed to do what needed to be done to destroy the North's ability to wage war when according to most of them they could have done it.
