Nice Animal House pull.

I have nothing against Terry at all. Rob and I came and reffed Nationals for him and he came and reffed a TSC for us. I meet Terry through Agent K and Rob. Rob, Dave and I all work in town so I see those guys all the time. Steve K and Sean keep in email contact. Terry dropped out of all that. What I meant was I'm not privy to any Terry inside info, never was. Lopa was Ts main 'bro, ax her as we say here in Philly.

Does @fit and the couch remind anybody else of Stiller's Gym in "Dodgeball"?

Just an observation, @fit loves Oly lifting. A good reason to consider the wisdom of both...

I've been watching some of videos from that place. I find it very weird that Glassman will edit sleazy hip-hop sexploitation music into some of the workouts that feature the women at XFHQ.

Aren't these his cherished "girls"? Why does he feel the need to "tart" them up?

Kick ass displays of strength-endurance, though.

It's a matter of acknowledging what's going on or everyone just pulling the wool over their eyes and pretending it's something else.

Anybody scroll thru yesterday's 5k times at CF? Most all are comfortably over 20:00. You'd think with all the CV work there'd be a slew around 18:00 or so. Once again, you'd be wrong.

And one dude asks how far 5k is. Heh.

Don't bother looking at the 10 sets of 2 reps for the squat WOD...nothing to see there. I mean, a few are ok, but many are subpar, as in lower than than the average "weak" P&B guy.

This was the root (or should I "Darth it" and say route) of my problems there when I was actually doing CF. With very little "crosstraining", and an oldster at that, I was right into the top 10% on average daily.

I kept arguing that if a person wanted to get REALLY stronger, or REALLY faster, or REALLY bigger, CF "as perscribed" wasn't the answer. This meet with overwhelming disgust. When Mike Rutherford, one of the smart guys there, came up with his "black box" for strength, basically a modified straight foward strength cycle with a couple of CF style workouts a week, it was O.K. because it was still a "subset" of CF.

The P&B comparison is apt. I asked someone about some start up throwing numbers and the answer was in terms of National records for my age group, I like that.

Clearly they're wrestling and that's a piledriver. Doing piledrivers for reps though is just another example of how Crossfit is likely to lead to injury.

Interesting (for me at least, and that's really all that matters) is Ethan Reeves post at DD today. 85% of his team deadlifts over 400#. Compare these stats to any day's workout comments at CF. His ideas evidently kick CF's ass and require no Kool-Aid.

What has happened to WFU's football record since Reeve came on board? I ask because I don't follow it and have no idea where to start.

Along the same lines, it will be interesting to see what happens to the 49er's after Cotter got them using KB's. Get better, get worse, stay the same... whatever.

Reeves came over from Ohio University with Jim Grobe. Wake was so so before and have improved quite a bit although their record doesn't always reflect it. They have been around .500 or a little better but they are always in games and play tough as hell.

It has a lot to do with the size of the school (Wake being the smallest in the country), academic standards, etc. With not being able to get the top recruits and best athletes I think Ethan has done an outstanding job. I would definitely say he is one of the best S&C coaches in the country.

Jim Grobe's name is always being mentioned for a position with the bigger football schools when there are coaching openings but he has stuck with Wake so far.
