Deep by James Nestor

A fascinating book about the ocean and what happens to the human body when it's underwater. Nearly every page had something I'd never heard about: from ancient tribes of free-diving women, to what happens when you hold your breath for extended periods of time.

Highly recommended.

I think you'll enjoy it, living close to the Ocean as you do.

I've never been into surfing but I love free diving.

I got interested in free diving after I damaged my ear trying to get down to about 20 feet in the Bahamas a few years ago. In about a hundred pages into this book and I'm fascinated.

It's a very peaceful place under water, a whole other world to explore. Glad you picked it up Shaf

An even more fascinating book is "Ballz Deep" by Peter North.
