The Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies

Post by johno »

Good movie, very entertaining. I saw it in 3D, and it was the best use of 3D I've seen. Jackson didn't beat you over the head with it.
The dragon in the opening scenes was incredible. Good acting and good storytelling.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Saw it with the kids, they loved it. Thorin's hair did not disappoint. I think it would be really good to see the whole Smaug scene as a single thing, ie, from the time Bilbo first went into Smaug's den through him being killed by Bard. So, I guess we'll have to wait for the DVD for that.

I only counted 4 armies. Surely the dwarves numbering 13 weren't considered an Army?

In the book it was orcs, wood elves, men, dwarves, and Eagles. Thorin and company joined the dwarven army, his cousin Dain? marched to relieve him.
