Whiplash ---- best movie I've seen in a long time

JK Simmons nailed it as the physically and mentally abusive band leader, but the kid playing the lead was excellent as well.

Watch it.

Simmons was super-good. Colbert had a funny comment on people who didn't like Whiplash:
“People who know jazz say that’s not how you get good at jazz. Well, I have a feeling that’s not how you get good at boxing, but I like Rocky.”
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I'm planning on re-watching it soon. I saw it on a Japanese airliner (minus the naughty words) after failing to drug myself to sleep, and I still thought is was great.
