At 5 a.m. Friday, Douglas was located about 895 miles east-southeast of Hilo, or 1,100 miles east-southeast of Honolulu and packing maximum sustained winds near 120 mph with higher gusts.
The Category 3 storm was moving west-northwest near 18 mph.
