While we can argue with much.. these books are decently written when you get past the premiss that it's kind of a hoax.
It's provided a good boost for Brothers Kavadlo,.. who are both decent guys.

I like how the pic on the cover is taken with a fish eye lens, because if you put Kavadlo next to, say, Ross Enamait, he's pretty small.

But that's before he put on 20-30+ pounds of solid muscle, right?

Yeah, if you dropped me in that pic I'd look like Nigga McSwole (and I'm not that big of a dude).

Fuck. I shouldn't be a dick. Kavadlo's clearly really good at the bodyweight stuff and he looks better than I do. I just seriously doubt that bwe are a good way to get SWOLE and the marketing hype is nauseating

Fundamentally the formula set in my book works. It's not everyone's choice for training BWE, nor is BWE the best way to gain muscle. Certainly overload with barbells being the most efficient and economical vs a backpack, Craigslist barbell plate and some rope for suspension.
But for travel,.. not luxurious George Clooney romps in Cannes, but backpacking [rucking] and adventure,.. AoW can keep you pretty tough and keep meat on your bones.
On Mutual of Omaha years ago, Stan Brock was a martial artist who stayed very strong and fit using BWE in the wild. He's seen in that Python grappling encounter where Marlin Perkins almost gets drowned. [that is kind of double entendre]

On Marlin Perkins -
Following the revelation that The Walt Disney Company had fabricated footage of a mass suicide of lemmings in its film White Wilderness,[5] CBC journalist Bob McKeown challenged Perkins in an interview as to whether he had ever done something of that sort. Perkins, then in his seventies, "firmly asked for the camera to be turned off, then punched a shocked McKeown in the face." [6]
On Stan Brock -
According to a report in The Independent (UK)[2] he:
"...has no money, no income, and no bank account. He spends 365 days a year at the charity events, sleeping on a small rolled-up mat on the floor and living on a diet made up entirely of porridge and fresh fruit."
Stan is a Karate Black Belt holder and physical fitness expert. He is an experienced pilot skilled in dealing with difficult landing sites.
The discovery of a rare species of bat has been attributed to him; Vampyressa brocki.
In September 2010, Stan was awarded the Inamori Ethics Prize by the Inamori International Centre for Ethics and Excellence at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.

While I digress.
"Take-Home Lesson
He spends time all over the world, yet 71-year-old Brock can still pull 14-hour shifts because he's an exercise junkie. If you're in a hotel room with only 10 minutes to spare, hit your whole body by supersetting split squats and pushups. Complete 10 reps of split squats for each leg followed by 10 pushups, pausing at the bottom of each rep for 4 seconds. Rest 1 minute and repeat twice."

Yeah, I have no doubt that, by choice or necessity, there are folks who want or need to use BWE exclusively, and want to add or keep a little size. My objection is primarily to the JDC marketing language that makes this sound like the best, most efficient way to pack SLABS OF PRISON BEEF on your SCRAWNY BODY

FWIW i liked aow a lot, but for whatever reason I find bwe really, really boring outside of like a yoga class setting

Reminds me of the good old days when the Canadian Pornspamming Posse trolled Animal Ability with Cumbath Student, who held dicks in his hands, instead of knives.

Looks like Brock made a movie called 'Galyon', and the youtube clips are epic as hell.
