Yeah. They're going to need their football program to continue functioning to pay for the lawsuits, and the required PR campaigning.dead man walking wrote:not to mention the tens of millions of $ they'll pay in settlements to the abused kids.baffled wrote: I'm sure that they'll donate a ton of money to various groups benefiting abused kids.

I'd almost bet my paycheck that every one of the d bags involved attended church every time the doors were open and thought of themselves as Gawd fearing men rather than homos. So I think it's more likely that it's better attributed to Xians than teh homos.

Suppose that they could do a lot......or simply remove the showers. Hey, that's a good idea.Terry B. wrote:If you are in the administration and want to try to clean up the damage done to your image, what do you do?

Yes because down the line there may be a child rape tour and they'll say "here's where Sandusky banged junior in the shitpipe". Jesus. Remodel?? What's that going to do???

Penn state needs to be smacked down hard. Administrators everywhere need an example so horrible that next time, a mere "scandal" about an employee's crime feels like getting off easy. Crucify them.

Re: Louis Freeh report on Penn State & Sandusky
They/we should definitely shut down the football program for at least a spell, I think. It is going to be creep-tacular the opening kickoff in a few months otherwise.
The school and town is going to go through some huge convulsions either way things play out. There are very few people here who see a middle ground. Either JoePa was super-awesome who made a mistake (a moral typo?) or he was going to be a target for indictment of a child endangerment felony but for kicking the bucket. The football program can't be stopped (think of the children...I mean the players) or it should be burned to the ground and the stadium with it.
There's no reconciling the two, and it appears to be about 50/50 here. I drove by the stadium on the way home from the airport yesterday morning (love them redeyes) and as I passed the statue some woman was laying down a little sign at JP's statue that said, "He was a man, not a god!" I almost stopped to ask her if she was one of the victim's mothers. Drove by later, and some kid's group of 10-12 year olds were all standing in front of it getting their picture taken with Father JoePa. I shit you not...creepy.
Tonight is the Saturday of the Arts Fest in town, which is usually the big drunk. Maybe some fighting over it?

I don't think crucifying a few administrators will help. We need to crucify a lot of administrators, perhaps more than exist at Penn State alone.Schlegel wrote:Administrators everywhere need an example so horrible that next time, a mere "scandal" about an employee's crime feels like getting off easy. Re: Louis Freeh report on Penn State & Sandusky
Lots of defensiveness and attempts to avoid the question from folks who perhaps also support buggery, but no answer to why when the PSU leadership was desperate for a reason to force JoPa out, they didn't take the obvious correct action with obvious buggery going on.
What were they protecting?
Parking fees?
Concessions?
Inability to attract a name head coach?
Not those boys. (No girls were involved)
Or maybe a faculty with a leaning towards a worldview that would have howled if prosecution of Man Boy love took place without every i dotted and t crossed.
i will wait (a long time obviously) for any explanation of facts that don't jive with JoPa was king. The lords and knights wanted him gone and they took no action when they had an easy shot. Maybe JoPa held the mortage on the stadium or had pix of the admin doing whatever. If you can explain please do.
And re-read just the course descriptions that represent many just like them.
Not a shellfish issue. A logic issue.

This is fairly common. My son's primary babysitters are a married gay couple - a few people have stuttered a stammered when they found out, usually coming back with some question if he spends the night. Stereotypes are somewhat true though - he usually comes home with some fantastic new recipe.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Jack's post represents the baseline fearmongering for right wing protestants...that gays want your ass and all man and boy ass. OK, I believe that perhaps we should let PSU decide what they want to do and simply stand back.
In addition to removing the showers, they have decided to leave the statue? Why you may ask? Perhaps they believe that Paterno has done more good than harm? Perhaps they have evidence that he didn't know as much as the report says he did? No, it's because they don't want to offend alumni, most of which, I believe, did now personally know anybody who were raped under his supervision.
Of course, looking the other way was what he was paid to do and rewarded for doing when things came out into the light.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/ ... ources-sayThe embattled members of Penn State's Board of Trustees quietly have decided to leave Joe Paterno's statue standing -- at least for now and, some hope, forever, according to sources with firsthand knowledge of the trustees' private discussions this week.
The trustees' reluctance to remove the statue is motivated, in part, by a desire not to offend alumni and students who adore the late coach despite the damning findings of his role in the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse cover-up detailed in the Freeh report, the sources said.
Of course, looking the other way was what he was paid to do and rewarded for doing when things came out into the light.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... it-packageVeteran Penn State football coach Joe Paterno began talks that resulted in a sweetened retirement contract in the same month that he testified before a grand jury in the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse case, according to a published report.

I support keeping the statue with a few modifications
Put blinders on Paterno and add a huddled terrified naked boy against the wall. Maybe add a pile of money bags in the milieu between the coach and the kid.

PL54, does not, I think, understand the degree to which the question of "Will this make wealthy alumni give us more, or less money?" dominates University decision making at every step. "Will this upset teh gays?" is not even in the top ten. The idea is laughable. Winning football is about money. Giant stadiums are about money. Avoiding scandal is about money. Hiding crimes is about money. Money, money, money, and more money.

Re: Louis Freeh report on Penn State & Sandusky
Why is a public university, funded by taxpayer dollars, offering queer studies in their curriculum? Who authorized that and why? Answer that and you'll understand why Sandusky was free to be the sick freak that he is.
Degenerates support and bring other degenerates into their midst. Queers want to be surrounded by queers, not by good, wholesome, family men. It's the reason Hollywood and other corrupt institutions are crawling with them. It's not because taking it up the ass somehow imparts skill and talent. It's because those sickos want to be around other sickos and make their degeneracy the norm.
Until normal folks drop the whole PC tolerance bullshit and start standing up against evil, this kind of sick, twisted shit will continue to infect not just Penn State but all the institutions of this country. "Tolerance" is the reason this country has gone to shit. You let everyone do as they please, afraid of possibly offending someone's feelings. Be thankful your body doesn't believe in "tolerance" or you'd be overrun with cancer within a week.
Whether you believe in God or just natural law, you have to understand that your existence and survival as a man, woman, species, nation, etc. is wholly dependent on rooting out the sick, degenerate elements of society, not promoting them and celebrating them as if they're something to be proud of. You're holding your heads up high, thinking yourselves to be enlightened, tolerant, loving people while this cancer eats away at you with no mercy. Wake up and drop the delusions.
