Fucking pigs...rescuing someone from a burning vehicle like that....I'm sure the typical IGx cop hater would have the gusto to do the same.

Re: Officer Friendly.
Way back when, when I was an 'Officer Friendly' in just 3 short years, I, personally:
-Revived a non-breathing infant while travelling at a very high rate of speed in a radio car (cruiser)
-Rescued people from a burning building
-Wrestled away a loaded .45 from someone trying to shoot another cop
-Chased and caught a guy with a loaded MAC11
-Have rolled-up on scene to 14 homicides (14, no typo)
-Have caught one of the above murderers
-Have disarmed a knife wielding Mexican who was good with the knife
-Have disarmed a crazy bitch who took a baseball bat to her very pregnant 16 year old daughter's head
-Have had above mom's 12 year old son come very close to stabbing me in the back/neck while arresting mom--saved by a brother cop and I never saw it coming
-Have been in a knock down, drag out fist fight with a guy fresh out of prison and on crack who took a frying pan to his wife's head dead in the middle of 111st and 1st avenue, on the ground, in the middle of the intersection.....
-Have responded to more 'shots fired' and 'man with a gun' calls than I can count
-Have been shot at--twice
-Have been justified and come close to shooting perps on numerous occasions, but training and a clear mindset kept them from being shot
-Have been thanked, greeted or positively acknowledged by the people of Harlem, NYC, USA, countless times
And you have done what for the world on a split second's notice? If the answer is nothing, that is completely cool, but just remember, Officer Friendly and his partners do much more good than harm.

Re: Officer Friendly.
So HVLN my question is what do "good cops" have to do with the shitheads listed on this thread?
I have a lot of close personal friends who are in law enforcement and they hate the shitheads just as much as the so called "cop haters" on this thread.

Aren't you an ex-cop, too? I thought it was you, me and Shape.
God's honest truth, I am completely cool with the spirit of this thread. Douchebag cops are a plenty, but they are absolutely the minority. When I finally paid attention to this thread the other day, it was clearly one-sided toward the shitty side of cops. Some balance is deserved, hence my posting.

Hey, I like to complain too. It's the IGx way. And while I like and respect the haters on this thread for the most part, I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, have not faced a life and death scenario that was not self-imposed by drinking too much and then behind the wheel.....Ed Zachary wrote:Roger that. With that said, again, it's very important that authority in any form is scrutinized and criticized....I am in full concurrence there.

Earlier today, the Department of Justice filed a formal legal complaint against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) alleging widespread constitutional violations and lawless mistreatment of Latinos. According to the complaint, Arpaio and his staff engaged in widespread, violent and demeaning mistreatment of Latino residents of Maricopa County, often targeting individuals solely because of their race:
Forcing Women To Sleep In Their Own Menstrual Blood: In Arpaio’s jails, “female Latina LEP prisoners have been denied basic sanitary items. In some instances, female Latina LEP prisoners have been forced to remain with sheets or pants soiled from menstruation because of MCSO’s failure to ensure that detention officers provide language assistance in such circumstances.”
Assaulting Pregnant Women: “[A]n MCSO officer stopped a Latina woman – a citizen of the United States and five months pregnant at the time – as she pulled into her driveway. After she exited her car, the officer then insisted that she sit on the hood of the car. When she refused, the officer grabbed her arms, pulled them behind her back, and slammed her, stomach first, into the vehicle three times. He then dragged her to the patrol car and shoved her into the backseat. He left her in the patrol car for approximately 30 minutes without air conditioning. The MCSO officer ultimately issued a citation for failure to provide identification.”
Stalking Latina Women: “In another instance, during a crime suppression operation, two MCSO officers followed a Latina woman, a citizen of the United States, for a quarter of a mile to her home. The officers did not turn on their emergency lights, but insisted that the woman remain in her car when she attempted to exit the car and enter her home. The officers’ stated reasons for approaching the woman was a non-functioning license plate light. When the woman attempted to enter her home, the officers used force to take her to the ground, kneed her in the back, and handcuffed her. The woman was then taken to an MCSO substation, cited for ‘disorderly conduct,’ and returned home. The disorderly conduct citation was subsequently dismissed.”
Criminalizing Being A Latino: “During raids, [Arpaio's Criminal Enforcement Squad] typically seizes all Latinos present, whether they are listed on the warrant or not. For example, in one raid CES had a search warrant for 67 people, yet 109 people were detained. Fifty-nine people were arrested and 50 held for several hours before they were released. Those detained, but not on the warrant, were seized because they were Latino and present at the time of the raid. No legal justification existed for their detention.”
Criminalizing Living Next To The Wrong People: “[D]uring a raid of a house suspected of containing human smugglers and their victims . . . officers went to an adjacent house, which was occupied by a Latino family. The officers entered the adjacent house and searched it, without a warrant and without the residents’ knowing consent. Although they found no evidence of criminal activity, after the search was over, the officers zip-tied the residents, a Latino man, a legal permanent resident of the United States, and his 12-year-old Latino son, a citizen of the United States, and required them to sit on the sidewalk for more than one hour, along with approximately 10 persons who had been seized from the target house, before being released.”
Ignoring Rape: Because of Arpaio’s obsessive focus on “low-level immigration offenses” his officers failed “to adequately respond to reports of sexual violence, including allegations of rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse of girls.”
Widespread Use Of Racial Slurs: “MCSO personnel responsible for prisoners held in MCSO jails routinely direct racial slurs toward Latino prisoners, including calling Latino prisoners ‘paisas,’ ‘wetbacks,’ ‘Mexican bitches,’ ‘fucking Mexicans,’ and ‘stupid Mexicans.’”
Widespread Racial Profiling: “n the southwest portion of the County, the study found that Latino drivers are almost four times more likely to be stopped by MCSO officers than non-Latino drivers engaged in similar conduct. . . . In the northwest portion of the County, the study found that Latino drivers are over seven times more likely to be stopped by MCSO officers than non-Latino drivers engaged in similar conduct. . . . Most strikingly, in the northeast portion of the County, the study found that Latino drivers are nearly nine times more likely to be stopped by MCSO officers than non-Latino drivers engaged in similar conduct.”
Random, Unlawful Detention Of Latinos: “MCSO officers stopped a car carrying four Latino men, although the car was not violating any traffic laws. The MCSO officers ordered the men out of the car, zip-tied them, and made them sit on the curb for an hour before releasing all of them. The only reason given for the stop was that the men’s car ‘was a little low,’ which is not a criminal or traffic violation.”
Group Punishments For Latinos: “In some instances, when a Latino [Low English Proficiency] prisoner has been unable to understand commands given in English, MCSO detention officers have put an entire area of the jail in lockdown—effectively preventing all the prisoners in that area from accessing a number of privileges because of the Latino LEP prisoner’s inability to understand English, inciting hostility toward the LEP prisoner, and potentially placing MCSO officers and other prisoners in harm’s way.”

there are heros and fuckoffs in every profession..anyone with a brain is sick and fucking tired of propaganda about "good apples" while the balance of the shitbirds hide behind thier chickenshit unions, drug war spending binges and punchy shitheads who are held to a lower standard than the people they serve.

Wait, I thought the 9+ pages of this thread were dedicated to shitty cops posted by men with half their balls. You're now telling me this is about unions?
In truth, I had not thought about my nights on patrol in ages, so I thank you for the trip down memory lane. I also know that my experiences are very much NOT typical for most cops. Being in a bonafide NYPD "A House" and working midnight to 8's put me where I ended up.
With that said, it's got to suck for shaved headed, goatee wearing, juice 1x per month in the ass motherfuckers to know no matter how badass you are, the average Officer Friendly you bump into at Hardee's has proven to the world that he's much more macho than you are by way of what he faces or what he's prepared to face, on a moment's notice. Give a little credit to the good guys....the one's on your thread are not the majority.
Re: Officer Friendly.
Nappy, you have a point-- there are good eggs, but there are rarely even squads full of them. How many shit birds and malingerers were there on your shift? And is it possible, after how long out of uniform, that you're romanticizing it a bit? You were only a cop for 3 years. Why? Why not 20 with a nice pension from the NYPD? Why isn't Shape a cop any longer? (We all know Ed got out when he ran through dispatchers and trannies to sully).
I sit on the other side of radio knowing that with a channel full of 60 officers, there are maybe 15 I can count on NOT to dick up a serious call. Thursday night I had half a squad decide they weren't going to investigate an armed robbery because the victim was too scared to stay on scene. An hour later after the watch commander sent them all back out, THEN they started looking for the guy. Out of the remaining 45, there are at least 5 I'd be scared to have pull *me* over. The rest of them I know I am probably going to have hand feed to get them to get out of their fucking patrol cars to answer the call because otherwise I know that the complainant is going to call back until they get some level of service.
Now, I don't know if the problem in some parts of the country is training and selection of potential officers or not but the majority of the ones I do see on the street get some kind of power complex after a few years. Yeah, the job grinds on you. It grinds on me too. You brought back an infant in a speeding cruiser; I've sat on the phone consoling parents when help didn't arrive in time. I've sat on the phone with women hiding in the closet so they don't get beaten anymore waiting for officers to get there. And yeah, when they get there is she going to go all "don't arrest my baby, I can't live without him" -- probably, since it's part of the abuse cycle. But more and more what I see out of cops towards the general public we both serve is contempt. It's a problem.
Officer.com has a whole section dedicated to internal affairs shit for a reason.
Oh, and I don't think BD does Hardee's -- probably some granoly crunchy West Coast shit like In and Out.
