I wanted to update you regarding the power outage we experienced at the end of the school day today. We understand there was an accident in the vicinity that caused the issue, but power has now been fully restored.
This power outage did not negatively affect the instructional day and students attended classes as normal. However, I did notice that some students expressed concern regarding the power outage, and I wanted to provide reassurance to all of you that it was simply a power outage, and nothing more alarming or significant.

As far as owning heavy weaponry is concerned, to me its the same as owning a vicious dog. If you want that kind of firepower, be responsible or anything that happens is your responsibility. It can't be just a "I can do whatever the fuck I want and own dangerous things" world. Everyone gets up in arms when a vicious (probably beaten and starved or trained to kill) dog escapes and kills or maims a child. And the owners are usually held responsible. Why should gun owners be any different? If I decide to build a massive bomb on my property, should my neighbors have a say? If I leave a bunch of AK-47s laying around my property in plain sight and someone uses them to kill a school full of children, am I not responsible?
The kid had no problem unloading and reloading that gun. For hundreds of rounds. And apparently had quite the stockpile of ammunition. He had access and knowledge of how to use that gun. Incredibly irresponsible on mom's part. I stand by that judgement.
With great power comes great responsibility. Too many people want the rights without taking the responsibility.
Blah blah blah.
They have no idea if the kid used it the AR15. Almost everything initially reported has been proven false.
you seem to mixing up a who is responsible for what and what I am allowed to do. First off a gun is not a bomb. By itself, as designed, and secured inside my house; it poses no threat to my neighbors. It takes a human actor to make it dangerous. A bomb on the other hand is very dangerous regardless if a human is there to or not. I'm actually trained to handle explosive and know what I'm talking about.
As for leaving guns lying around my property in plain site. It is already illegal to do what you decribe. I can face serious jail time for doing so. More so than leaving a syringe of heroin in my front lawn. not to mention the civil penalties.
As long as I follow the current laws, it's none of your fucking business how many or what I have in my house.

Small handguns are also designed for killing people. Will you turn yours in once the Supreme Court upholds an Assault Weapon ban and Congress passes a ban on other "people killing" firearms?nafod wrote:The Bushmaster that was used by the douche in Sandy Hook, used by the DC sniper, and used by the shooter in Colorado, albeit with a hundred run drum mag rather than multiple 30 round mags, is designed for killing people.
He didn't make a bomb, because you actually have to do work to make them, and it is highly likely they won't work or hopefully they blow up, killing the perp. Figuring out how to make a bomb leaves a trail of purchases, internet searches, stuff bought, time spent with the door locked while you try to assemble it, evidence if you try to test it before using it (he had plenty of practice with the Bushmaster) and mom probably didn't include bomb making with her gun nuttery.
Evil is going to be around. I want to stop making it easy for them.

Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too,
For his civility.
We passed the school, where children strove
At recess, in the ring;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.
Or rather, he passed us;
The dews grew quivering and chill,
For only gossamer my gown,
My tippet only tulle.
We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling of the ground;
The roof was scarcely visible,
The cornice but a mound.
Since then 'tis centuries, and yet each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses' heads
Were toward eternity.

The above, which I am citing a mere part of, is a fantastic post that is the only real explanation for why such a large segment of the population thinks the way that they do.DrDonkeyLove wrote:Every country has a mythology. Discussion of guns, here and elsewhere, has been fascinating over the past several days. What strikes me is how angry the vast majority of people pushing "no child left unarmed". It seems that yelling that everybody should have multiple guns and more ammunition than you can pack while preparing for the evil government to come and invade your backyard is a more common way of thinking than I had thought. It also matches the description of nearly every shooter of a mass killing over the past decade.
Actually, that was China's response to a series of school stabbings a year or so back. Well, I obviously know nothing about guns not used for fair hunting, but it was a lot of firepower. And quite frankly, you may be a reasonable person, but I don't like that there are a lot of unreasonable people with those same weapons.
You were asked to define these "unreasonable people"; there seems to be a lot of them. You have avoided this question and engaged in posts filled to brim with hyperbole.

For an Irish man I am shocked you don't know that AK's and AR's were the top choices in firearms for the PIRA. ( The first use in anger of the Thompson Sub Machine gun was in the hands of the IRA in the early 20's)
You know that fun bunch who even 22SAS (Who are as good as anything we have) and 14 RTU along with MI-6, the British Amry, Royal Marines and the UCP could not put down.
Seems the more reasonable ones (not the one's who were fgihting because "Fuck all I hate regular jobs") got alot of what they want in the end.
An American Cival War would be much more like Northern Ireland unless it was part of a larger collapse. The intent might not be so much to take over as to make the politicol whores wake up.
