Met a serious @fitter ver the holidays, nice guy and an aquaintance of the Couch and many of the apostles. i told him how much we enjoy the rantings of the Couch and how many of you remeind me frequently of just waht a weak performer i really am.
Ed seemed perplexed.
He did leave me a lot of @fit journals to read
If it wasn't for the pukie and rhabdo and cult issues, and that X-games flavor in the penumbra, i might be convinced it is good general fitness work.
On second thought, nah....

Robb Wolf, former #1 trainer and sanest of the CF crew, has dropped CF from his facilities name. Wanna guess why?

Oh my god, he actually has a page where you can calculate the total energy required for a workout and also the <gasp> average POWER expressed. You must be preparing your belittlement even as I type. Heh.
http://www.performancemenu.com/resource ... Output.php
To calculate the approximate work and power output of a workout, fill out the form below. To read about the development of the calculator, see the accompanying article by Greg Everett and Eva Twardokens in Issue 14 of The Performance Menu.
Don’t believe everything you think.
what possible use could this calculator have?nafod wrote:

Oh, I imagine it was either some kind of ugly car wreck, or just a slow parting of ways. Whatever it was, it didn't happen in public, which is a good thing.bill fox wrote:Yeah I saw a draft of that before it came out. Pretty cool.
Greg's Big kipping pullups are awesome. Helped me get the bar muscle up.
wanna guess again?
I'd be genuinely curious to see the algorithms they use to calc power. Maybe I'll snag Issue 14.

70k has nothing to do with our witty banter.
The average joe reads a newspaper article on Xfit, and googles for more info. Then innocently falls into this rancid vat of foulmouthed ignorance.
Some stay for the NSFW.

Don't flatter yourself too much, guys. This thread doesn't even come up on the first ten pages of google entries.
I think people just come back here hoping to be amused. So if this thread proves anything, it's that clueless hope springs forth eternal.

Silly O-lifters hiding their inefficiencies by doing singles, doubles and triples...Of course it's dangerous. You might actually be in danger of getting fit. And you might be in danger of having to learn to be efficient instead of accepting the same flaws in your form that you can get away with when only performing a few reps.
-head-poundy on desk-I have never seen a sport where performance via a "lack" of intensity, or trained focus has been the order of the day. For an event as intense as Olympic Lifting, how could it be even remotely possible to achieve the movements of such poundage in bursts of action without, high, hard, intense reps ?
