Srry... I tried to take some of the sting out. I started at namedropping nuthugger if that makes you feel better.

Wasn't there also an issue that some of the split times for the running WODs translated into Olympic and World Record times?
Silly gorilla. You seem to be confusing 400m around an oval track with a 400 anyhow.
I say we find a couple of really tall buildings, defenestrate a couple of these eleeet firebreathing 1%'ers and see how fast they can do 100m anyhow in a "free fall" with no chute.

That would be some unscared shit.

I'm still agog at how someone can live such a sheltered existence that they think it's a good idea to walk around in public with a 1%er patch on their clothes when they are not in point of fact an outlaw biker.

Maybe if you only ever navigate between Starbucks, Whole Foods, your affiliate box and REI you might get away with it but given how many boxes are located in industrial parks near welding/machine shops, vehicle parts dealers and garages I wouldn't bet my life on it.

It may intuit well that if you can slam a 25 lb medicine ball into the ground really hard over and over, you can survive being beaten with chains and stabbed with knives.

An important discovery:

"The use of intuit as a verb is well established in reputable writing, but some critics have objected to it. Only 34 percent of the Usage Panel accepts it in the sentence Claude often intuits my feelings about things long before I am really aware of them myself. This lack of acceptance is often attributed to the verb's status as a back-formation from intuition, but in fact the verb has existed as long as other back-formations, such as diagnose and donate, that are now wholly acceptable. The source of the objections most likely lies in the fact that the verb is often used in reference to more trivial sorts of insight than would be permitted by a full appreciation of the traditional meaning of intuition. In this connection, a greater percentage of the Panel, 46 percent, accepts intuit in the sentence Mathematicians sometimes intuit the truth of a theorem long before they are able to prove it."

Elite word usage is NOT trivial.

I shit you not. The Rogue sponsored @fitters at last years Games were wearing the 1%er shirts at the Games. i thought I had a picture or two in my archives, but I don't. After a bunch of people explained that selling the shirts was a baaaaad idea Rogue pulled the design.

This is on the same level as those rappers and MTV assholes that say "conversate" instead of "converse." That's what makes Couch-hate so satisfying.

A friend of mine's dad was a 1% type of dude...I don't know his specifics, but he was a scary ass dude that meant business.
My friend and I got jumped once and things didn't turn out well for us. When we got back to my friend's house and he explained what happened to his dad, we were instantly loaded up in an old Monte Carlo and looking for revenge. I thought it was cool until the old man pulls out a .38 revolver and puts it on the front seat. I hung in for a few then got out...it was like a white trash scene from Boyz in the Hood...
Anyhow, that's my outlaw biker story.
Fuck @fit.

That shit is LULZ inducing every time I see it! There are a number of places where that shirt would get s/he shot and killed. Best case scenario, you leave without the shirt and without most of your teeth.

I wonder if you could earn your 1% patch by killing a crossfit fag wearing one??

After they ripped off that shirt and found she was a girl, there'd be even more fun in store for the pleasantly surprised outlaws.

Why would you think they'd be "pleasantly" surprised ? The bikers I know have standards. Now maybe if you threw her to somebody in lockdown....

I have friends who are serving time in Monroe, who've served time in Panama, Somalia et al. the only dude I've ever been genuinely afraid of was a Pagan. A very smart but totally irrational man.

BREAKING: Oh, SUDDENLY the difference between 53 and 55lbs actually matters.

IMAGINE THAT!

http://games.crossfit.com/features/53-not-legit?page=1
Not using a prescribed weight, even by one or two pounds short, will invalidate an Open performance.

In the CrossFit Games Open, accuracy and precision matter. Athletes must meet each and every movement standard detailed for the workout in order for their performances to count. Not using a prescribed weight, even by one or two pounds short, will invalidate an Open performance.

We are learning that some affiliates have validated Open workouts that were completed at 53 lb. instead of the prescribed 55 lb. These performances do not count. Fortunately, there is still enough time left for these athletes to redo the workout at the prescribed weights. Score submissions for the first workout are due no later than Sunday, March 27 at 17:00 PDT.

If you plan to count your weight collars in the total weight of the barbell, be sure to weigh them first to verify their exact weight. Many common collars weigh only 6-7 ounces. This is not enough to equal a full pound when using two collars on a bar.

The Open is based on the idea that athletes around the world can fairly prove their fitness by competing at the same movements with the same weights and reps. Any performance that falls short of this standard will not count. As athletes, affiliates, and judges, please make sure that you do your part to enforce the Open’s rules.
I love how they front like it was all their idea.
