I've heard of @Fers trying a workout 4 times in a week to see if they can better their score. Going "real" competition full-speed 4 days in a week on these 10-15 minute metcons, layered on top of the overtraining that is likely already present (because getting ready for the Gaymes means training even more and harder) will leave many people broken and wondering WTF just happened to them.

@FHQ doesn't believe in or address the fact that their program "exceeding the capacity" of their folks is a problem, so @Fers will be left in the cold.

I sure wish there was someone out there who knew how to deal with this problem... :-"
There are too many @fitters that are doing this. Some are working out 2-3 times a day for an extended period of time to get ready for these games, not realizing they are doing so much more harm than good.

I've seen people (not here) do the qualifier workouts 2-3 times in a couple days to try to get a better score, each time they are frying themselves a little more.

I know you can train your CNS to do more work, but this isn't what they mean.
Seriously, fuck 'em. The more I'm around fucktards who train that way expecting shit not to break, the more I just don't care. You can't talk sense to religious, kool-aid drinking zealots.

Agreed.

if anybody wants to tap into @fit money spenders i have no problem with that, as i have no problems with the average person who does those workouts. If Mark Bell wants to draw new folks into PL, and as a meet promoter that is what he should do, that is great, but giving them their own division is not such a good idea.

Let them compete as an Open, Novice, Police and Fire, Military, Raw, or Master. There are enough divisions in PL and they need to see how they match up in the real world.

Betting raw is best as db factor is highest.

It would be fun to watch the 11.04 wod if they did real muscle ups and not the pitiful excuse of a muscle up that they showed in that clip.
Doing 10 real muscle ups (for a non gymnast/climber) is real hard work.I used to be able to do real ones, but then I had to rest a while after a cluster of 3`s.Now I mmanage 1 or 2,but then the elbows hurt like hell.

Whatever happened to the silly PVC parallettes and L-sit bullshit? Is it safe to say Cultfit has abandoned all the silly psuedo-gymnastics crap that Glasshole was so hard for a few years ago?

That's really surprising to me because I thought for sure that the key to elite fitness was doing L-sits on PVC parallettes in your living room. I had worked all the way up to the frog sit.

I thought that Crossfit promised that within a couple years, their athletes would be better at powerlifting than powerlifters, b/c PL'ers don't know how to train.

So why do they now need their own division?

Why aren't they dominating the PL world, smashing all the previous records, and making the traditional PLer look like detrained sacks of shit?

I might be confusing "walk" with "talk" again.

Good call. There has been enough time for a lot of 750 deadlifters to have emerged.

Honestly could not figure out how it was different from raw. maybe just so they could compete against each other? and the squats were universally too deep.

The only guy pulling over 750 was Mark Bell.

Guess the rest of the workouts will be for fun then, will scale the OHS just so I can get to the muscle ups!

Oh, they're all over the place -- they are just doing reps at 225 with a HR of 170 bpm instead.

Here is the genius of Couch. The majority of the flock won't be able to compete one round of this. HQ can simply draw a line at two rounds to see who will be competing in regionals. Couch's timing ensured he got $30/lamb from the past three workouts while not having to waste one damn minute watching online submissions.

Here's what I don't understand...Coug, maybe you can answer this...is why so many people who can't even do these workouts paid $10 to "enter" online? I could understand if this was a physical event; at least you're there. But why film yourself exercising poorly and pay $10 for nobody to watch it?

Wow... one guy did all of 12 burpees in the 10min time frame!

10$ well spent...

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

And if that doesn't cut down the numbers enough the final workout will probably be something like deadlift AMRAP, women use 275, men use 405.

I can't believe they're just going to turn off the spigot after only three workouts. It would make sense to lob slow creampuff workouts across the plate for at least a dozen WODs or more.

Indeed. I PROMISE you that not a single back of the pack, AG'er in ANY triathlon in the country would pay $10 for a camera crew to follow them as they struggle through a 2 hour sprint distance race.

Much less pay to have themselves taped and then POST IT ON THE INTERNET FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD TO SEE!
