You have to understand that physics isn't couch's strong point. It was Abby's handing couch a plate full of his ass over couch saying the KB swing does not develop the same hip opening power as a clean of equal weight moved an equal distance that started this whole thread.
I'm pretty sure couch didn't claim "of equal weight" and his main point was the Oly lifts develop more explosive strength than KB lifts because it is possible to use much bigger loads, which is correct. You have to remember Fox and most everybody around here were still all fagged out loving KB's more than other equipment at the time.

he was quite specific that it was not because of load. That's how this thread started.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I have no idea what his statements were because it's all deleted, but the arc and mechanics make kbs inferior for the quick lifts too, unless it's just for conditioning. Glassman's always made dumb comments, but this thread caught fire because he pissed off all the KB nerds

It may be a little weird but rather than have sex with her, I feel a strong urge to shoot a double leg and try to choke her out.

Also you may be gay. That probably contributes to your desire not to have sex with her, and women in general.

Ab god was wrong.
Coach was right.

The arguments that insued brought about the birth of the couch thread. Unfortunately, the size and breadth of @F hate in this thread is daunting to the newcomer.

Isn't it if the bell rings, you win, and if it doesn't, you're a pussy?

I guess that's not complex enough. It doesn't account for the 4th dimension of fitness that Couch inverted on its axis.
well, plus there's that scale to to show just how much of a pussy you are. it's an almost perfect description of a metric.
have you ever been as far as even considered go want to do look more like?

More conflicting quotes from Bony Pudding:
“You work as hard as you possibly can— it changes people for the better.”
“There’s no substitute for common sense. We never ask people to push past a sustainable limit.”
Working as hard as you can is sustainable? Wow. Someone tell the Olympic athletes that, they need to change their training stat.
But according to Budding, “The first and most important rule as a good trainer is you have to care. And no matter how good, strict, and refined we are, we can never enforce caring.” Still, Syatt had his own opinion. “Caring is irrelevant. If they can’t teach it or spot a weakness, they shouldn’t be certified.”

However, to prove the “no pain, no gain” mentality isn’t the way to go, instructors point to two (rather grotesque) mascots: Pukie the Clown and Uncle Rhabdo, a graphic cartoon oozing blood, sweat, and toxins. “It’s a dramatic example designed to make you pay attention,” Budding says. “But we’re doing it to keep people safe.”

@BokONE sponsored athletes visit the Empire State Building "to show people that fitness is something that can be done anywhere, at any time."

"Most people come up here and look. We came here and actually did something."
That's why at 0:59 they took the elevator to the top floor.

I would love to see some of those elite firebreathing athletes crush the record for the run up Empire State Building of 9:33 in two weeks.

It's got an international field of elite runners. And it's only 0.2 miles - should be right up the alley of most Crossfitters!
http://www.nyrr.org/races/2012/r0208x00.asp

Instead they take the elevator and do some pushups in the middle of the night. Badass.

Those douchebags go up there to show off.

A fifth of a mile in 9:33? How hard can that be? :-"

Why compete in a real sport with measurable outcomes when you can move the goal posts in your own fake ass sport?
