Something like 80% of NBA players are bankrupt within seven years of retirement.
(feel free to argue amongst yourselves on the details of that comment)
Money poured in, money poured out.
Where's da money?
We spent it.

I fuckin' love this shit. It's like a serial soap opera. Quack and Jay are dialed in. Greggy and wife build a company together. He leaves her while she's pregnant and takes up with an underwater swimmer's wife. Soon to be ex-wife is fucking up all kinds of shit tryin' to get even. Retards and sycophants at the home office are handwringing and night sweating over their fate. You know somebody's gonna get murdered in this deal and it's gonna be a 2-parter on Dateline and later a tv movie on Lifetime. And where's the studio going to get source material???? Right here at the Couch thread my bi-curious brothers. And we'll be rolling in the fucking dough. Wait, somebody keep an eye on that fucking Mario. He'll take our cash and split.

Regardless, I'll be at the movie premier... Mike O'Hearn can play the part of me.

Glassmans X should be careful claiming @fit is half her creation.
I know she's maneuvering for the big pay day and getting back at cooch for trying to kill her and all, but come on, she's full of shit. @fit is glasshole's baby. No one, except for the random @fit HQ sex party participant, knew who the fuck she was until she and glasshole's split the sheets
I wonder if Lauren (with the deer in the head lights look) will be spouting off about being co-creator of @fit, when the class action Lawsuits start to role in a couple of years?

Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

Re: The couch thread
Any prudent business person knows that rule 1 in litigation (or even threatened litigation) is to SHUT THE FUCK UP. You are not writing emails, you are writing trial exhibits.
This business has gotten too big for these fuckwits (Dale, etc.) to manage-the money and stakes are too high and it's time to let the grownups take over.
And their panic demonstrates they realize they're in over their heads. Way over.

Re: The couch thread
Glassman's control of the forum and responsibilty for his moderators and admins means those moderators and admins comments and emails, etc could easily be on the table. This is especially true when Glassman alleges Anthos engaged in gridlock, and it turns out his moderators, admins, and employees are doing everything they can to squash the deal (i.e., limit Lauren's ability to sell for max value). You might even say that Glassman & Co. are trying to "gridlock" Lauren.

Russell Greene wrote:Steve,
If you think that Bryan Kelly's plan sounds swell, please go and become his first affiliate. The same goes for you, Patrick. I intend no ill will when I say that.
I've spoken to Greg, at length, many times, about this issue. He has always said that he only wants people on his side who understand and appreciate CrossFit's elegant prescription for fitness and business. If you think Anthos could add some tools or products and make a better fitness company, we will not stop you guys from joining them. We'd love for you to leave.
I can't help but notice, however, the discrepancy in responses. With few exceptions, CrossFit Affiliate owners tend to think that outside intervention in their business is a horrible idea and a violation of CrossFit's covenant with its affiliates.
On the other hand, those who support Anthos' plan, such as Patrick and Steve, for the most part do not own CrossFit affiliates. There must be something about owning your own affiliate that makes you hyper-vigilant to the perils of outside intervention.
Lastly, think to yourselves, how would you have reacted if Greg Glassman had sold out to Anthos and left the affiliates behind? Would you have taken the side of Greg and venture capital against the 4,400 affiliates whose business models and independence were now at risk? Would you not accuse him of betraying all that he'd said and built?
I wonder if the reluctance of affiliates to question HQ has anything to do with HQ's practice of Glassassinating and expelling any affiliate who has ever engaged in behavior that falls short of Glassman nut-sucking.

The sheep are the ones who are on the message board...the ones who know how HQ acts all keep their mouths shut and stay under the radar (which generally means not saying much on the entire interwebz as the cult has its ears to the ground everywhere).Jay wrote:No. They are just blind sheep. Re: The couch thread
*cough* WORLD'S GREATEST ATHLETE. EVER. *cough*

Just five weeks ago, at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Eaton piled up 9,039 points to break the world record of 9,026 that Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic had set in 2001. Sebrle bowed out of this Olympic competition with an injury during the second event, the long jump.
Stretch back to March, and Eaton won gold in the heptathlon at the World Indoor Championships, breaking his world record in that event as well.
“Ashton Eaton is the greatest athlete that's ever walked the planet, hands down” American Trey Hardee, winner of the last two world championships and the silver medalist here with 8,671 points, said.
Even Jamaica’s Usain Bolt took notice and offered this comparison, “I'm a great athlete but to do 10 events, especially the 1500m, I gotta give it to him.”
Eaton has gotten the sport to stop and notice him, yet his greatness hasn’t quite hit him.
“If I was a spectator looking at myself,” Eaton said, “I would think, ‘What is this kid doing? At 24, world record, Olympic gold. What’s going on?’”
Hardee pointed out that the decathlon is less about competing against the athlete next to you as it is about conquering the event.
