Oh my god. This new bit of insight behind the CF scenes has made me realize what an awesome, avant-garde piece of theater @F really is. Seriously, how the fuck does this crazy culture pop up around a bad way of working out? These jerk moderators have their secret little room from which they can police people; they are actually posting their emails for each others' purview, likely in the name of "efficiency" sayeth Cooch; and the mods' Real Life frustration is forcing them to subconsciously create characters to deal with it all (e.g., "Mr. Cynical" who's getting snarky with the newbies). I mean, holy hell, don't these people have friends? Family? For that matter, why teh heck am I involved in the CF show as an audience member?

This Fucking Shit is causing me to have an Existential Meltdown.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be some flirty romance between David Wood and Lynne Pitts? They're being all serious and shit about this Skip Chase fellow, and then non sequitur time right after the image break: "I was thinkin maybe we could hook up, huhhh?" from David. And Lynne is like, "Sorry, I gotta blah blah blah. It would have been cool, though."

Then, after rejection, David starts the next awkward post with a big, fake "LOL."

He's driving around with his kid, and can't stop thinking about some bitch online? Sounds like he's divorced and fucking sad. She, psychologically, reminds me of Dirt Diva.

These people are becoming real people to me, with real transparent problems and oddities.

The behind the scenes stuff is interesting. However, any big community (and xfit is large) has these issues, and issues trying to keep it on track. The best, most vibrant organic communities have a minimal amount of tampering. (like IGx, HA!). Mods have to talk about this shit. And, guess what, it's usually very 'unprofessional'. They aren't getting paid for it.

If I were on a moderation board, I'd completely be posting like that, except there'd be more "Fuck that dick", "xxx is a stupid pedophile!", and "shit, I'd hit that hard!"...that's all part of the fun of it.

What Lynne Pitts doesn't understand with her "if you own a ford you don't post on the honda forum" is that @F isn't about @F, it's about fitness, essentially, because they way couch has set it up, it is almost overencompassing everything. So, you've got lifters, runners, and everyone in between all in the mix, and, like it or not, some find that their experiences are more valid than couches or the @F hardliners.

I feel bad, because either XF mod forum was hacked or someone inside essentially betrayed an implied trust and privacy agreement.

So, you XF mods who are reading this...you're doing your job, and I might not like how you do it, or what you have said about me at certain times in the past (and a hearty fuck you for doing so) but, I can respect, intellectually, your issues and your responsibilities.

I was banned from the Crossfit forums for arguing with couch and making him look bad in the Dan John character assassination bit, and for the Gym Jones stuff and for things I'd posted in other places. I tried to post on the XF forums within certain boundaries of propriety (i.e. no being an outright dick and naysayer, asking questions and making posts about specific topics, not just bashing crossfit). I think my accusations of lying and making shit up to Bony Pudding really agitated some folks.

XF isn't an open discussion forum. It was at first, but it hasn't been like that for years now. People just don't realize it.

I also don't have anything against couch. I plan on having a beer with him sometime without his minions and yes-men around, because I'm sure that'd be a fun talk.
