Re: The couch thread
It's always been Glassman's goal to get thousands of people doing CrossFit -- whether they want to or not.
Since the military has chosen not to turn their entire PT program over to him, look for couch to make high school coaches his new focus.

No shit. The Canadian Forces, which is likes to quote, didn't take his program. Take a look at the Final Report: http://www.cfpsa.com/en/psp/HumanPerfor ... 121106.pdf .
They had to alter it LARGE. Fucking funny stuff. Great stuff like having to create their own web page because the main CrossFit one is messed and do NOT follow their nutrition crap. Funny stuff. Guess that's why they called it the "Combat Fitness Program" and use it as an "option". It didn't replace shit. Ruck marches, long distance runs, field ex's still dominate. They throw this shit in the mix sometimes. That's it. Not the ringing endorsment he makes it out to be.
He's a fucking tool.

You are talking about a guy who cannot remember how to put his head merkin on straight, or be bothered to drag a razor across his bloated red face when he knows pictures will be taken.Sofa King wrote:I know this is his plan. In conversations, the question came up: What's the best way to get into the public schools. At the time, I suggested the curriculum route. I then related how I had used some @fit drills in training JHS athletes.
I don't think he remembers the conversation.
I would be surprised if he knows what planet he is on, at any given moment.

Walking is one of the most effective exercise for an obese person, yes, but the fact remains that it is still not very effective, especially considering the time it requires to burn any substantial amount of calories. It is also a complete waste of time if you aren't going to clean your diet up. You might as well solve the things you can solve well first. Doing that will make things like exercise easier, more effective, and more efficient when you come to it.Charismatic megafauna wrote:Pattty, you fucking retard. Like most @fitters you are demonstrating that you don't know shit about shit.
for a fatfuck the MOST effective exercise is walking and fatties absolutely should be exercising. just becuase they can't go ghey and do a muscleup doesn't mean it's not exercise. and shut the fuck up abut diet while you're at it...bagging lunch and "managing stress" is not the problem.
88 pages? Like hell am I going to dedicate the time to read 88 pages of blather about CrossFit, whether it be praise or condemnation. Thank you for the summary, wtf. (Not to be confused with wtfmate.)

You get the roids once you pay for the cert.wtf wrote:"John Welbourn is the owner of CrossFit Balboa and is a professional football player. He attended UC Berkeley from '94-'98 on a football scholarship and graduated with a BA in Rhetoric, and minor in Nutritional Science. During ten-years in the NFL, he played and started as an offensive lineman for both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. As a professional athlete whose career depended on consistency and peak performance, he has always been fascinated by nutrition and its effect on the human body. He currently writes the CrossFitBalboa.com blog and is the creator of CrossFit Football - a new CrossFit certification that is specific to the rigors of the game."
Hmm... No mention of roids. How odd.

You presume so much, and know so little. Walking burns calories. As such, it is a valuable tool in weightloss strategies.wtfmate wrote:Its (sic) not complete horseshit. Well said, my friends from Canadia:
The AFM – CrossFit Final Report wrote:CrossFit claims to not be periodized but rather to be randomized in the
prescriptions.
5.10.1. The assertion is that if the situations in life, sport, and
physically demanding occupations are presented to us in random
fashion, then training to meet these challenges should also be
random. This is likely true in how we practice the use of our
skills and fitness to permit us to respond to different tactical and
environmental settings. However, the risk of doing the fitness and
skills training in this fashion is that the training at required
frequency, load, duration and actions may not be optimal to
achieve our desired fitness and skill outcomes.

You have no chance to survive make your time.

PD:
There are valuable changes that occur with regular exercise apart from those related to weight loss.
