Ha I am not even sure if that is a man or woman. Regardless, it is just gross looking.

UPDATE: Holy shit that is a woman. I just popped on the gaymes video and low and behold, there it was standing with the rest of the women.

The snatches in that video look terrible. For a group of people that preach the benefits of oly lifting, they really don't know what they are doing.

And WTF is up with a few of those people just tossing down the kettlebells from overhead? One of them just tossed it behind her head after her last rep. That is a good way to break a handle off if it hits the ground wrong. I guess they are just too badass to care.

Ha I honestly was not sure. I guess the high-cut top and shaved legs (complimented with deadlifting scars) should have given it away, but you can never be too certain. Besides, her clit probably rivals many men's penises.

I call bullshit. A swing is down-up-down, those are unfinished reps, thank God for the RRG to protect people standing behind them. What is with the banner about dominating other athletes?

In this Couch talks about Force, Distance, Time as 3 of 5 fundamental measures blah blah blah.

First off, there's actually 7 base units for quantities of measure used to define all other units (e.g. Derrived Units), and Force (the SI unit being Newton) isn't on that list (it's derrived).

Of course I'm sure they didn't pay a 1000.00 bucks for scientific accuracy (or may be the International System of Units doesn't apply to Couch).

For the IGX nerdlings out there base units are -

Meter - Length
Kilogram - Mass
Second - Time
Ampere - Electric Current
Kelvin - Thermodynamic Temperature
Mole - Amount of Substance
Candela - Luminous Intensity

Force is measured by the derrived unit of Newton (M * KG / S squared)

This ends your daily Wiki Science 101 session reality check @Fit Fans.

Because all your base are belong to them.

Other competitors struggled badly with the sledge, with one competitor breaking four of them before completing the event. Others were bleeding after wild swings found flesh instead of metal.
That really pisses me off. If you break one sledge, I'll give you a break since you're a keyboard jockey who's never used one. If you break two, the event is fuckin' over for you. Put the handle down and go look for your balls. If you break FOUR? First off I'm taking that handle and beating the shit out of everyone who didn't tell you to get fuckin' lost after the second sledgehammer, then I'm shoving that handle up your ass and using sledgehammer #5 to hammer it into your brain. For fuck's sake, FOUR perfectly good sledgehammers? I wish I had been there. Damn that BBQ bash in Monaco I had this weekend.

About a 3rd of the way through a blonde in a grey sports bra with black pants is snatching, As she stands from the hole
Her Dam belly button is popping out, is that a hernia? (The bar has yellow plates on it)
We certify our bells as 9/11 Scrap Free™ Why take a chance on something like this? Is that bondo on the handle or a melted stapler?

Yes, her pics have been on the thread previously. The press-outs on too many of those snatches are embarassing, I can't believe Burgener lets them get away with that.

Daily dose of cult goodness:
"What We Look For In CultFitters"

At Crossfit Downtown Winston, we strive to create a set of circumstances that enable the right people to be successful in their given fitness pursuits. Our aim is to create an environment that allows people with the right psychological makeup to achieve their aims, whether they be weight loss, weight gain, athletic excellence, or life fitness.
[...]
We have had a few knuckle heads who think that their form and intensity are great and they can kick butt with no instruction, but we disabuse them of that notion in the intro session.
[...]
Because being coachable to us means making a lifestyle change. Not just learning the movements, but committing to doing this Crossfit thing whole hog.
[...]
If you are not able or willing to plug into that community, then this might not be a good fit for you. I’m not talking about being shy, that’s OK. My best example of this is the guy who shows up and just wants to work out on his own and just use our equipment. He doesn’t care about working out with others, he just wants to do his own thing. Funny thing, but these guys are usually pretty uncoachable too.
[...]
The people who don’t listen to us, who don’t take responsibility for their own lives, and who shun our community don’t achieve that level of success.

Given how frantically eager @fit is to post content about how amazing they are I'm guessing that if they haven't publicly posted commentary and photos/video of it by now, it was a total fucking shitshow even by @fit standards, and they're going to bury it and act like it never happened.

Paco! If you've got something to say about me, then please say it to me. If you'd like, send me a private message either on these boards or the Performance Menu and I'll give you my cell phone number so we can talk. I'll gladly do my best to answer any questions you may have and try to sort out any problems you have with me. If you don't though, then I'd ask that you please refrain from needlessly trying to defame me in the future. Thanks!

I'm really not a bad guy; I'm probably just not your sort of guy.

RPC, not quite...the Iceland chick got 2nd...after two months of @F...wonder what she did before (um, strength training)?

--

Why is @F not a sport?

Because the longer you're in other sports, while still being youthful & spry enough, the better you get as your knowledge/strategy/technique gets better.

Note that the longer people are in @F, generally the worse they fare. This is because @F ruins people long-term. OPT (winner of the 1st Gaymes) and Jeremy Thiel (a favorite) both went down with injuries. Other major names didn't even make it to the second day cut.

Cases in point:

Men's winner didn't even know how to do the "staple" @F jump rope exercise until the day of the event:
Salo was uncertain about how the WaD would play out given that he had learned how to do double-unders earlier in the afternoon.
Women's 2nd place has only been @Fing for two months!:
[...] Annie Thorisdottir from Iceland certainly provided the unknown element. After two months of CrossFit training, the 19-year-old emerged as the only competitor with a chance to wrest to overall title away from Wagner in the final WaD.
[...]
But could Thorisdottir do muscle-ups? After the final WaD was announced, CrossFit Director of Training Nicole Carroll was teaching Thorisdottir how to perform the movement in the warm-up area.
The Americans need Louie Simmons to come in and revamp their program, that is obviously. :hda:

Props where they are due. @F faggotry aside, this dude is solid.

The 176# followed a 2nd place (to 135# Speal) finish in the 7K run with a 495# DL. This is what @Fers are supposed to be but aren't.

Winning the CrossFit Games seems to be in large part a matter of luck. Yes, Mikko Salo is a strong guy (stronger than me - for now), but with any different workouts, he easily could have placed elsewhere in the pack.
GoDogGo! wrote:WTF is a "Paco?"
Some guy who posted on the SF Weekly article simply to lob a poorly-done insult at me. I hadn't even posted there in the comments, so I really found it inappropriate of him to go and do that. I already told SF Weekly about it, and they were very nice about removing it.

CrossFitters are a surprisingly cowardly group for all the macho bull they put up. In the past, when I've posted on the affiliate blog comments and been harassed by a gaggle of CrossFitters, I've often taken the time to send personal responses to each of them via email, and very few of them ever bother to respond. Hecklers only shout when they're standing amongst a crowd. In fact, in that last thread I posted on the CrossFit boards, I openly invited Jamie Skibicki and Michael Houghton to contact me if they really wanted to know why I had grown to dislike CrossFit, since I didn't think it was right to go posting that publicly there. Neither of them ever bothered. Tom Brose, too, in a different thread. I met him in person several times before too (long before I was banned), and I know he's a nice guy. He just didn't want to hear anything that could potentially damage his high opinion of CrossFit.

I'm still not seeing the purpose of that "s=ad0924ja924ha924243tadf" string in the CF board URL's. It's weird.
