Re: The couch thread
@F is once again trying to take in all sides of the equation, pro- and anti-steroid.
"We drug-test the Gaymes". Yet done in ways that make cheating the test even easier.
Hiring Welbourn, caught steroid user.
Having Tate freely lecture on steroids.
I'll be waiting on a steroid guru to give the next "Performance Enhancements" cert, that one will cost $5K...

Maybe I can get in on this cert $$$. I can slap together an e-book in a couple days without much effort. I can guarantee I will get at least half of all male @Fitters as big as Eva!Resident Quack wrote: I'll be waiting on a steroid guru to give the next "Performance Enhancements" cert, that one will cost $5K...

Isn't Eva hooked up with Mike Rutherford, whom is a vocal proponent of HRT?

He did get one part right.Until now, weightlifting was dying, its punctured lungs aspirating and collapsing. With a single hour on a sunburned farm, it now it stands ready, the province of Red Bull sponsorships and worshipful ten-year olds, where the best aren’t strong once an hour, but a dozen times in ten minutes, their fitness defined not in one sphere but in many.
There will be a fight, but it will not last long. First, the purists will laugh at the rules and the form, declaring that we couldn’t possibly succeed with such a preposterous format. As the loads increase, they’ll start with the ‘dangerous’, and as the crowds swell to fill the Rose Bowl, they’ll seek sanction and injunction.
In the end, the resistance won’t matter, because superiority survives on its own merit, because this is the future, wood and spandex be damned.
Welcome to a new epoch of weightlifting. Watch the bounce.
This is an abomination.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - Helen Keller

This part is right too:
their wooden-soled shoes the only vestige of traditional Olympic weightlifting

Re: The couch thread
I simply have a hard time believing that Coach Burgener lets those things that @Fers did at the Gaymes that resembled snatches slide.
People shy away from weightlifting because they think it is dangerous. This will not change anyone's idea about that, it will only strongly reinforce it.

Sounds like a woman's voice, Tom. At least it did a few years ago.
It's been mentioned that Eva can be a bit horny, and isn't afraid to get down to business.

She did that one Crossfit radio interview and I remember her voice being very high and nasal. Regarding sex, she all but said she needs a man who can get it up and keep it up. Personally, I'd like to get behind DAT ASS for just a little bit.The Bastard Son of the Shafman wrote:Sounds like a woman's voice, Tom. At least it did a few years ago.

I've worked 2 or 3 National bodybuilding shows at the Jackie Gleason Theater. The figure chicks are even getting low voices. The bodybuilder chicks are so sad.. Peach fuzz, acne, deep, deep, voices, trapezious the size of laptops. @fit is next and the metamorphosis is quite a show.

The bodybuilders are using comparable drug volumes to what I was using back in 1998-2000 when I was still trying to get HUUUGE.
The fitness chicks are year round fucked up on misc. shit.
And the figure chicks are by far the most reasonable as they will use a little drug and some implants to get what they want.

Re: The couch thread
A real sport background. Didn't even train "for" the Gaymes, while her husband did. Heh.Charity placed 2nd overall with a dominant final workout (18:24, which was a full two minutes faster than the nearest competitor). She also came in second in the Triplet workout. Amazingly, she came in ninth in both the long run and the deadlift.
Charity and husband Jeff are CrossFit Snohomish in Snohomish, WA. Jeff trained for and competed in the NW Regional Qualifier. Charity and Jenny Olson (Jeff's sister, who came in eighth overall) decided to join him, mostly because they thought it would be hard to make the trip to Aromas without being able to participate. They don't train to win, nor to compete in the Games. But they're obviously doing something right!
Charity was a Level-10 gymnast and a Globogym-type personal trainer before Jeff found CrossFit about three years ago.
She is pictured here with Kristan Clever, the second place finisher on the final event, just a few meters from the finish line.

Gilson regurgitates Fight Club every time he posts something, but he's actually one of the saner people and better trainers, IMO. I don't read him anymore because---well, I don't read any of them anymore--the melodrama is too much.Stillwater wrote:I think someone slipped some acid into the Kool-Aid.

He captured the essence of @F quite nicely.
They're like fucking locusts, bastardizing lifts, shitting on national monuments, and cussing and fucking their way into the interweb fitness scene. It makes my eyes bleed.Ten minutes. A stack of plates. Power snatch or squat snatch, split or not. Rip it up smoothly, press it out ugly, it doesn’t matter. Just get it over your head. Max load wins.

Fight Club.....meh
of all the peopl that have ruined a decent B movie. I blame crossfit first and then Twight. But Twight always was a loon...crossfit came to it on purpose and through effort.

The "Arnold" was a horror show. I expected better out of Gilson. I know the man, and I didnt expect that.
The Arnold this year, was not as good as the past 2-3 years, when it comes to sightseeing fake titted, fake tanned, big clitted, anavar using tramps wearing next to nothing. 2007/2008 were the best two years. I particularly enjoyed the girls wearing the devil constumes, complete with tails, and the milkmaid dressed girls, in 2008. Good stuff.

DISCLAIMER
The below Program is written for a small semi-private group of individuals who have trained together for some time and are at similar levels of adaptation. This program is by no means the only program that athletes who train at Greyskull perform. There are considerably more athletes that DO NOT train using the program below within this organization than athletes who do. Strength and Conditioning is not one size fits all. Re: The couch thread
I am bored as hell right now and looking over those Level 4 fitness standards they have over there. One of the feats requires doing 150 reps of a double KB/DB clean and jerk with 24kg implements. Pros don't even do that shit. Where are they getting these arbitrary numbers from?
The 6k row in 20:00 is retarted too.

Re: The couch thread
That's funny, Fish. I hadn't looked into the rowing numbers much yet, but I just went to the C2 website to see what the best times for the male 30-39 age group heavyweights were from the 2009 season to check on how retarted the time was Dave Werner chose for his standards...http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/rankings.asp
How out of range are the KB numbers that Fish mentioned above? I wouldn't know where to look.
Wow. That is true retartation. Even the elite rowers can't row elitely enough for @F standards!!!Tim Geldean 39 Erie CO USA 20:42.6 IND

Re: The couch thread
On a great day I get @60- 70 reps no setting the bell down on long cycle with the 24's.
They may be fine for Ginko though.

6000m in 20min is a 1:40 500m pace. That's pretty good for most fit people for a single 500m sprint. Sustained over twelve times that distance is asking a little much, IMO.
