His celebrations and race prep rituals are "playful"

It looks like it has been blocked. What's going on in the video?

He was giving an interview on tv, and stopped - turned to face the American flag while the National Anthem was playing in honor of a female track and field winner.

I have yet to see a single athlete do that. Interesting contrast to Maroney being a saucy brat with her silver.

This works, but who knows for how long. Very cool.

I think Maroney needed to sit down with her coach and decide if she a) Wanted gold. Period. or b) Wanted another magical perfect vault.

If it was a) her coach fucked up. If it was b) then she chose to push the envelope herself.

Just once, I'd like to see an American athlete do that. I'm sure it happens but we're too busy on covering the USA v World medal frenzy.

Soon as that lil snapper walked out for the team competition, the wife turned to me and said, "that one's going to do porn within 3 years"

I know, but in a few years that lil snapper will have a whole new baseline for misogyny. I'm doing a service.

I don't think it was an act for the media.
It's that "spontaneous right action" thing that just happens when you're totally present and have 'all your planets lined up' - like he has obviously done for this Olympics.

Agree, I am no rah rah America guy, but when our anthem is played, I face the flag...

Bolt is a class act and has fun with what he does. Its a hell of a lot better than being super serious and acting like its a job, clearly he loves what he does and enjoys putting on a show. The best sprinter we have ever seen in our lives.
