Slate Bourbon

Post by macmad »

ran out of duty free booze on Friday after finishing the last of the Makers mark, The Chivas 18 year old was the best of the 4 bottles I bought back from Sabah, followed by the Kahlua especial ( first finished as mixed with milk went down a treat ), then the Jack Daniels Gold label ( just above average ), and our winter favourite Makers mark.

Went to buy another bottle of Makers Mark today and noticed this next to it. Slate bourbon, Made in Chicago
Not bad at all.
$ 40 Aus for a 700ml bottle. 37% alcohol

If it's not made in Kentucky, it's technically not bourbon. And that's the law. That being said, there is plenty of 'bourbon' style whiskey one helluva lot better than that crap Southern Comfort I started out drinking.

SoCo is not whiskey. It's a liquer with whiskey in it, along with nasty sweet shit.
