His point about correct form is on the money. With correct form that girl can crank up the pull on the bar to her max and not get hurt, just as I can get set and attempt to lift the back end of my car. Neither are moving, but that's beside the point.
But WTF else he's trying to say, and what that has to do with @Fit is beyond me, especially since their form in stuff like hi-rep deadlifts is pretty bad. Just more convoluted verbiage that has fuck-all to do with anything except impressing the faithful.
GDG!

Uhhh, that's not what he said. To quote, he said, "I would imagine most hard core CrossFit athletes might hit the “Advancedâ€Shaf wrote:The last statement about Crossfit athletes is just plain stupid. It's basically saying "If they wanted to they could" reach those advanced levels.

Maximal strength takes the longest, and most devoted training to improve beyond certain levels.
Relative to that, the anaerobic conditioning work, while it might be more painful, will see relatively huge leaps and bounds into the "freaky" area much more quickly.

Howlingly funny.
Today's WOD:
1. Their are phenomenal dumbasses and don't realize you are looking for a near daily max in the thruster
or
2. They are deliberately doing it.
either way is funny.

Hard to argue with that. Except to insert "pics of hot fitness chicks" somewhere in the mix.Batboy2/75 wrote:@fit is just a bastardation of crosstraining with the addition of a crazy 8 ball WOD, cultish behavior, stupid members, and a broke dick leader.

Look at the latest pic.
It looks like Glassman is attempting to "quantify" a movement by using a tape measure.
There are so many things wrong with this that I don't know where to start.
I am sure the rationale behind this is to make some of his metcon studs seem strong with gay measurements and calculations.

Well, the total work done in a lift = mass x distance x gravitational constant. And he measuring the distance the center of mass of the lifter travels and the distance the weight travels. What's so fucked up about that?Shaf wrote:Look at the latest pic.

Edit: This one is plain old Engineering 101. Power = Work/Time. Work = weight lifted x distance. You measure the distances traveled for each of the two weights (barbell and person), the values of the weights, and the time for the workout. You get total power done to the weights during the workout. Duh...

TODAYS COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT
"The kipping pull-up integrates upper and lower extremities, and doubles the work capacity of the pull-up."
"doubles"
I imagine the response is "Well, it increases the workload, that's what he really meant" or "it's a different kind of work" (because, of course, it decreases the muscular load on upper body muscles). Even granting, for the sake of argument, the CF definition of "workload" as applied to the pullup, it's still complete bullshit.
