Well now the drunken bastard has got a high dollar bicycle that he can leave in his garage to collect dust or he can pawn for gin money.

LOL

If it's a porno I'm going to buy that so fast.

And as far as the ESPN thing goes, that's no real big suprise considering ESPN airs spelling bee's, speed stacking, and fucking poker so @ssfit will fit right in with the rest of the freak show scheduling.

The sad thing is I'll probably watch.

I'm pretty sure that's Mrs. Couch. I heard the main event required flicking almonds into Mrs. Couch's cleavage, with the finalists advancing to a round in which they flicked almonds into Couch's cleavage. The winner got to buy Couch a drink.

Doesn't the apparent Mrs. Couch have a frothy amber beverage in hand? Make fun if you want but that old couple looks like they will benefit from some leisurely rides around the neighborhood. They could name the workout Ginny. Unfortunately, they seem to be giving the bikes a "what the hell am I going to do with this thing" look.

Those bikes ran some poor suckers about 3G's? I think the fund raising fell well short of expectations and the affiliates, including one right here in OC, had to run to WallMart and buy a couple of those awesome "Super Turbo Rockhopper" bikes.
They were sold out of the "Special Spiderman Version" of the bikes.

I think Mrs. Cooch's bike came with a basket, but they couldn't find the mounting hardware prior to the bestowing ceremony.

Just got back last night well...1230am this morning from the 2008 Crossfit Games in Aromas, Ca. What an amazing event. Surrounded by 300 crossfit competitors and much much more spectators and judges and what not. Been Crossfitting since around last years games..maybe around June we started the WOD's. I've never been around more elite athletes in my life. All of us from Crossfit Kinnick had an amazing and life altering time. We are all now more motivated than ever to continue to push hard and become the best athletes possible. We all plan to be running with the big dogs next year for 2009. I personally dont know how my body or anyone elses body's handled such a grueling test of fitness with 3 extremely difficult work outs in 1 day followed by an even more difficult workout on sunday. I ended up finishing in the top 80, #77 and am darned proud of it. Being able to be that close to the top guys is something I didnt realize I would be able to do and at the same time I was extremely humbled by how strong everyone there was and is. Great time and cant wait until next year. I almost didnt go to the games because of my wife being almost 8 months pregnant so I have her to thank for the wonderful birthday gift (today is my 29th birthday) and I have my bro Jonathan to thank for getting everything set up for me to go at the last minute...and I do mean the last minute. I found out that I was going about 13 or 14 hours before we left. I was finishing a 12hr shift at the restaurant and I got the news. SUCH GREAT NEWS IT SURE WAS!!!! Great job to everyone that went with us and everyone that was there. Great Job to Jason for being the Winner of this years event. But I would like to take my hat off to Josh Everett for being in the top 3 for 2 years in a row. That to me is a true crossfit stud. We train not to be the best at one thing but to be very good if not great at everything and that shows in Josh Everetts performances the past 2 years. Cant wait for next year. Crossfit is life.

Do you supposed they mixed the kool-aid a bit to strong during the games?

These comments highlight the ignorance of the Cross Shit clan. How the fuck did a modified gym class workout become confused with a group of elite athletes? How does a group who can't make it in any real sports, who therefore try to become decent at some random fitness tasks, somehow become confused with an elite athlete? What's elite about working out? Let's see what you can do on the field. Can you throw a ball? Can you drive to the hoop with your left hand? Can you hit a curveball? Can you juke a cornerback and catch a pass down field? And can you lift some real fucking weight? How does a 275 pound deadlift classify as anything other than a waste of fucking time.

There has to be at least one or two professional football teams that can be pulled from the 300 competitors, wait, did he say 300?

There's nothing that needs to be said besides watch the video and read a sampling of comments below....

My 7 yo daughter, who does CossFit Kids, watched the video with me and said, "I hope I can be like Kallista one day!" I smiled, hugged her, and said, "I hope so too, honey, I hope so too!" As the father of 3 daughters, I could learn a lot from Kallista's parents, who apparently have 4, and obviously are doing something right!!

That video was incredible. I'm sitting here in tears right now. That kid is my hero.

As soon as I can get the tears out of my eyes I'm going to show that video of Kallista to my daughters. Wow!

Great work, awe inspiring heart.

that video brought tears to my eyes. i guess because it was a girl trying to do something great and it made me think of what i want for my own daughter.

Kallista, you are a star! I don't think I've ever been as moved emotionally from watching a vid. I, too, had tears rolling down my cheeks. Truly inspirational.

Kallista-
Darling girl, you are a delight to my life. Thank you for your amazing inspiration. I never ever cry, and can hardly even flinch, no matter what goes down. You shook something out my soul, and had me in tears and joy as I watched you. I was mesmerized by your soul, as it battled against the bar and imposed your unbreakable will over it.

Just watched that video. That girl has a lot of guts but those people (@fitters) are fucked up. The ones posting the comments as well.

Who were those 2 dudes she was hugging at end of the video?

Is there anything dumber than high rep Oly lifts done for time?

Look at the form of some of the guys in the other video. Nice rounded low backs at the start...a chiropractors dream! Cooch must have financial interests in ortho and chiro clinics - dude is a genius.

Josh Everett (#2 in XF games) did this to prepare
How am I preparing for the games? Nothing special really. My weakly schedule looks like this...

Monday: agility drills followed by either 30yd sprints with a sled or sprints on the track up to 300m... everything is with full recovery... no fatigue
Tuesday: about 45 min of O-lift training focusing on snatches and sn asst movements a few sets of light C&J. After this I do a wt room based Crossfit (no running)
Wed: Sprints: 40yds up to 150m again with full recovery
Thursday: 45min of O-lifting focused on C&J along with heavy squats. I follow this with a running based Crossfit
Friday: rest day
Saturday: heavy o-lift day sn, C&J, squat... I usually follow this up with either 3x10 L-chins or 1x40 regular chins

Basically I enjoy sprinting & O-lifting so it makes up the bulk of my training. I'm ignoring training for the distance run because I felt like doing that last year really wore me down and I couldn't have run any worse than what I did anyways. As far as being mentally prepared... mostly I'm just visualizing my self being successful...also thinking of any and all possible wods and how I would attack them. The toughest part for me will be convincing myself to compete on the run... I have no interest in running over 200m competitively.
Note...this isn't the WOD and has nothing to do with XF programming.
