That's what he gets for talking about something of which he knows not. He sounded like he was worried about sailors rushing willy-nilly to the gym to do Helen until they die of rhabdo. He ought to be worried about sailors dying of soft ice cream and sheetcake inhalation.
On the ship they used to serve a double bacon and cheeseburger with a fried egg on top for midrats. We called it the Barney Clark.
Edit: Left off the most important ingredient...bacon

The point that people in general could use more exercise and eat better is the given.
We were given cigarettes in our c-rations and cartons in the platoon pack out in the field. Guess they have changed this. Our stateside chow sucked and was full of fat and grease.
So, yeah, the military could use some more PT. And make everybody brush three times a day.
Just don't pretend that equates that x-fit cures cancer, makes your dick grow and guarantees you won't die in combat.
Its GPP to excess. That's it, no more.
Guvmint will buy gymjones cuz it looks cool. X-fit is tatted up girls and skinny boys.
That 2 to 500 quote has been blasted around a lot, but the continuation I don't remember seeing:
We will though work the deadlift, like most lifts, approximately once per week at higher reps and under grueling conditions. It may intuit well that if you can pull a 250 pound deadlift 21 times coming to the lift at a heart rate of 180 beats per minute, then 500 pounds for a single at a resting heart rate is perhaps manageable.
A weird idea. Low weight lifted under stress trains you to lift a new max? I can't follow that logic. It seems it would just train you to lift what you can under stress better, if anything.
That was in the comments section for the whole Navy dustup.
A poster "Old Vet" (?) hit Glasshole with his claim that x-fit saves lives. Glasshole danced around in a response, then one of his buttsuckers addressed the issue. Somebody took a gunshot to the head and lived, so x-fit was the reason.
Glasshole appeared to be on the sauce in some of his posts.
Means he is out of town without with his chaperone.
I made the point about the "saves lives" shit a few pages ago.
This thread keeps circling back.
How did we miss this and how has this gone on for as long as it has with all the blatant bad mouthing of @fit? There are actually some cogent posts in this thread. Where's Hier Wood?

I think he's taken on cathletics as his personal mission in life, which si good becuase the world needs more 125 pound male gymnasts giving advice re: heavy deadlifting, the explosive nature of l-sits and the positive effects of thumbinass handstands.

Read the whole thing...there is a truely Oh Snap momentn when Chairman Low's sign off goes horribly wrong....I'll append here:
I'm interested at how you would tweak energy pathways to improve my bowling score. My goal is a 250 average by October.
My guess is the best plan is beer and bowling.
You can PM me the answer, as I'm leaving this thread. I have to agree with Christin - there is a difference between providing helpful information (see just about any of Gant Grimes posts and experiments) and just throwing stuff out there.......
But wait there's more....
You are a wealth of knowledge, Steven, but I stopped listening to you because of your condescending, all-knowing tone. .....Good luck to you and thanks for the help....
