Re: The couch thread
The stupid mindless fucks at that site are so completely snowed by their own bullshit, they don't understand the concept of real athleticism.
A good deal of the track and field marks, from 30-40 years ago, still would hold up today. The stories and legends of our greatest US throwers from that time, indicate that beer, pot and fornication were the mainstay of training outside of the gym and field.
The x-fit morons confuse method with results. That's, why they have to make up a competition, amongst themselves, to create "achievement", which they cannot perform in other sport.

Oh christ I could only read the first page, I had to click off the link as blood and tears were running out of both eyes and made it difficult to continue with such dumassity and wackiness.robb wrote:http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=35311
Once more CrossFitters know what's best for Olympic athletes.
Notice how the conversation quiets down by page 6 after all of the people who "should be eating better" completely dominated their events.

It's worth noting that, several years in, CrossFit has been unable to create or even recruit/retain elite athletes of any type who still compete. There are a shitload of Americans in the Olympics. There are a lot of pro athletes out there. Exactly zero do CrossFit, unless there's some table tennis/ballroom dance/tiddlywinks guy I don't know about where high fitness isn't even necessary.
Surely by now there have been a lot of these folks who have at least tried @Fit. It looks like everybody draws the same conclusion: useless for sport.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Like i have said many times, cultfit is mainly for X games retirees who are too old to race down mountainsides or whose jobs drug test and they can't do half pipe anymore.
If you self define fitness then only you are fit. Cultfit is the soon to Jonestown of Fitness. Makimba is the first of many victims.

@fit, just a workout; not a proven training method that is capable of being copyrighted.

When Couch and I were still on speaking terms I asked him about this. He said there were "plenty" of pro athletes that did @fit but he thought named dropping was "poor form". That's some serious bullshit.Grandpa's Spells wrote:It's worth noting that, several years in, CrossFit has been unable to create or even recruit/retain elite athletes of any type who still compete. So making money off the memory of dead soldiers is okay, but providing any proof whatsoever of the elite athletes training their way is poor form? Srsly, wtf? LOLZWhat's your vision for the future of CrossFit?
Do you think the explosion of CrossFit will have any long-term deleterious affects on the community as people are exposed to poor coaching or substandard teaching?

Who is David Wood?
He seems to know my internet persona.
He was "really surprised" to see my post on the bullshit @fit is as good as military and LEO training to make you HARD! thread over on their damned shithole board.
Does he post here is he possibly a poster on MMA.TV?
Banned do you know?

As for DJ Wood reading IGx, I fully think he's a lurker. I know for a fact he lurked/posted at PM and that's how I was banned over at @fit. So Jim, I betcha he gets his anti-cooch fill over here and uses his knowledges over at the mothership to keep the faithful in line. You know, sort of a "the fat pricks at IGx all hate us because they can't do the WOD," or some other shit. You just keep being the shit-stirrer you are and let DJW fester looking for violations of the AUP.
I began posting here right after Everett banned Shaf for being an intraweb wise-ass. If that's a crime, I'm a criminal on the lam.

Re: The couch thread
Don't worry I'm not getting back on the Kool Aid I was just trying to figure out if he was one of the @fitters from MMA.TV or what.
I missed the whole PM thing.
I was doing a different thing then and was mainly at Marunde Muscle at the time all that shit went down.
I'm really suprised I haven't been banned at @fit considering the info that is gathered by the lurkers here and the low level shit stirring I do over there from time to time.
On a side note I'm sensing some dissent on the @fit boards when I was reading a few posts today.
There seems to be more questioning of the shepherd by the sheep in regards to the exodus of affiliates recently.

I've forgiven brother Greg. I was so not fitting in over at the Pmenu.
I don't Olympic lift. I don't Crossfit. And, I am not a health nutter.
I tended to dominate the forum, and it just wasn't how Greg wanted that community to be developed.

Nah didn't make it to the incline.
Had too much other stuff to do with the kids.
I did run a bit and rode my mountain bike in the Garden of the Gods.
The elevation was brutal on my low land ass.
