At this year's NFL scouting combine, the max number of bench press reps with 225 pounds that any player did was 39, done by Louis Vasquez, a 6-5 330# guard from Texas Tech. Second was 37 reps, by Terrance Taylor, a 300# def tackle from Michigan.Row 500 meters

Looks like only 17 players out of about 330 did more than 30 reps with 225 on the bar, and all of them were linemen except for one 227# safety from USC. Three linebackers and one running back got 30 reps; for each of them 225 was less than body weight (though not by all that much). Tight ends topped out at 28, receivers at 27, QBs at 26 reps.
Clearly not the fittest people on the planet, at the scouting combine.

Re: The couch thread
Clearly not, Jim. Look at this piece of shit, Aaron Curry. This sorry sack of shit only managed 25 reps @ 225 and yet was taken FOURTH in the draft. Couch needs to un-fucked the NFL like he's doing with the military, the police, and everybody else. He might run a 4.56 40, but I doubt he could do Tran in less than five minutes. If the shit went down, why would you want this guy watching your backJimZipCode wrote:At this year's NFL scouting combine, the max number of bench press reps with 225 pounds that any player did was 39, done by Louis Vasquez, a 6-5 330# guard from Texas Tech. Nice of him to save the surgeon time, and tatoo on the incision marks for his future double-rotator cuff surgery. It doesn't get more No-Nonsense than that.

Haha. Hopefully he has some on his lower back, too (as a @F guy, he probably does). Nobody appreciates excessive hyperextension on a DL like a @Fitter.WildGorillaMan wrote:Nice of him to save the surgeon time, and tatoo on the incision marks for his future double-rotator cuff surgery. FYI
Classifications of Gin
London Dry Gin is the dominant English style of Gin. As a style it lends itself particularly well to mixing. London Dry Gin is the dominant Gin style in the United Kingdom, former British colonies, the United States, and Spain.
Plymouth Gin is relatively full-bodied (when compared to London Dry Gin). It is clear, slightly fruity, and very aromatic. Originally the local Gin style of the English Channel port of Plymouth, modern Plymouth Gin is nowadays made only by one distillery in Plymouth, Coates & Co., which also controls the right to the term Plymouth Gin.
Old Tom Gin is the last remaining example of the original lightly sweetened gins that were so popular in 18th-century England. The name comes from what may be the first example of a beverage vending machine. In the 1700s some pubs in England would have a wooden plaque shaped like a black cat (an "Old Tom") mounted on the outside wall. Thirsty passersby would deposit a penny in the cats mouth and place their lips around a small tube between the cats paws. The bartender inside would then pour a shot of Gin through the tube and into the customers waiting mouth. Until fairly recently limited quantities of Old Tom-style Gin were still being made by a few British distillers, but they were, at best, curiosity items.
Genever or Hollands is the Dutch style of Gin. Genever is distilled from a malted grain mash similar to that used for whisky. Oude ("old") Genever is the original style. It is straw-hued, relatively sweet and aromatic. Jonge ("young") Genever has a drier palate and lighter body. Some genevers are aged for one to three years in oak casks. Genevers tend to be lower proof than English gins (72-80 proof or 36-40% ABV is typical). They are usually served straight up and chilled. The classic accompaniment to a shot of Genever is a dried green herring. Genever is traditionally sold in a cylindrical stoneware crock. Genever-style gins are produced in Holland, Belgium, and Germany.

ahh, jimbo...you miss the key of the issue. the @fitrz took appx 1-2hrs to complete that 1st set of 30 BP. the NFL losers did it all in one set. at @fit, they take the time to savor each rep...JimZipCode wrote:At this year's NFL scouting combine, the max number of bench press reps with 225 pounds that any player did was 39, done by Louis Vasquez, a 6-5 330# guard from Texas Tech. That couch quote will be of little comfort to any ectomorph who lines up and needs to put Aaron on his ass on a Sunday this fall. I actually like a lot of the shit that Cultfit Oneworld does but fuck you are going at your own liver with teeth and finger nails taking this man NSAIDs when you are "tore up."
Rather than treating the pain why not treat the actual cause of the pain.

alleve and tylenol?
I've tried that combo, I vastly prefer taking 1000-1200 ibuprofen when something's got to ease up.

This ain't about healing. It's about getting hardcore, BROTHA!!!1 It's training not to suck at life. Whether you are attacked by a dozen pirates (cutlass, not Somali) or building a sandbag wall to save your village, you have got to train! 3 on, 1 off, but only the pussies take days off.
