Believe it or not, I heard that not long into her convalescence after surgery the nurses caught her running intervals on the stairs in the hospital, in her gown, carrying her IV bag! She was bugging out at the thought of losing any of her cardio. Fucking nutbar.

If she's still alive she's probably hardcore @fit by now.

Stumbled across this in the paper while getting to the soduko puzzle at work today:

http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/he ... =KArksUUUU

The woman in the article does not even look like she works out.

The male doing dumbbell thrusters looks like a fag. His last name is also KorneGAY. Go figure.

In fact, the whole article was gay.

Catholicism gets a bad rap because most of its adherents are self-righteous twits. I should know...I was raised Catholic and did 12 years of hard time in Catholic schools before wising up.

Catholicism is a noble and dignified religion with a lineage that goes back to Christ, unlike these little jump up, backwoods, ditchwater jump-up sects.

HAHAHA

Fucking classic.

By all appearances, the trainee ("Rodgers") is an "office manager" who is probably upper-30s and appears to be considerably overweight and largely (if not completely) untrained. Yet, here is part of her superintense workout: "Rodgers was jumping on and off a 2-foot-tall wooden box, her face red, laboring to blast through eight rounds of prescribed pain." Yep, high impact plyometrics, performed incorrectly and under fatigued conditions are a great tool for shedding bodyfat!

And max situps for time. These are more properly known as "the flop" and are great for putting strain on the low back and doing little for the midsection, especially in a fat, untrained office manager.

Someone link her to the Injury Forum please? She'll need it eventually. Diagnosis: knee and lower back pain, possible ankle injury.

Catholicism gets a bad rap because the priests are plowing the altar boys and the Church tries to hide it.

As much as I've checked out of this thread, I found this comment from the article interesting:
Oh please Prizm...as someone that holds a degree in exercise science, has multiple certifications from various organizations as well as having 15+ years of experience as a trainer I can assure you that while Crossfit may have it's share of trainers that could be better qualified it's hardly alone in that regard. Every time I walk in the door of a Lifetime I cringe at what 90% of the trainers are doing with their clients. Crossfit has taken a solid idea and put a spin on it that's captured the attention/devotion of a lot of people that would otherwise be sitting on the couch or stagnating in an ineffective training protocol. The very few underqualified trainers out there do not negate Crossfit's benefits nor are they the majority of practitioners.

Well, considering he's DEFENDING Cultfit in the quoted passage, it's reasonable to assume he was inflating his scores to puff himself up.

Really, you needn't worry about ANY of this shit until you've punched some pussy with your needle, mate.

FACT. What he neglected to mention in his comment was that he wrote that response while doing Cindy, with a 50 pound weight vest on, a troop of cub scouts in his rectum, and a full grown bull across his shoulders for resistance and still managed to beat anyone's best time by ten minutes. In fact he completed it in negative minutes, and was so fast he actually went back in time and finished it before he started.

I miss reading Matt G comments on the WOD.

The other thing I don't understand is what are these RESULTS couchfitters speak of when the speak in favor of it? There are not elite athletes sprouting out of affiliates, and the guys that are good athletes were good athletes long before they knew of couchfit. Where are all these results? It is not that hard to take a fat ass and have him drop a few pounds by doing any kind of physical activity and having a decent diet. Those are hardly dramatic results. Go browse around the forums over there and see how many times you can count them saying something like "we do crossfit because it works". The question is, for what does it work?

The sedentary guys that start couchfitting are OF COURSE going to get some benefit from training like a assholes if all they have been doing is benching and curling a few times a week with bitch weights. The question is, would they be getting better results* by couchfitting or by doing a program that is specifically designed to meet their own goals? I guess most of them don't really have goals, except to be better at the random tasks life is going to throw at them in which they will be glad they have been practicing their handstands and squat snatches.

Most people would have all the strength and conditioning they will ever need by simply getting their squat/deadlift/bench/chins/running up to a respectable level. Why does it have to be so fucking complicated?

*when I say results I mean things that are measureable, such as BF%, muscle mass, or specific performance goals. Not bullshit such as work capacity across varied time domains or whatever.

/rant

Now I feel like an asshole for wasting my time on this post.

It really is that fucking simple.

Just when I convince myself to stop worrying about all the dumb shit out there, I have to refrain from choking the stupid out of some cocksucker. For some reason, @F is just so hateable. I'm angry just thinking about it. It makes me want to throw a sandbag at POD.

Haha I just don't understand how things that seem so clear to myself don't make sense to other people. So many stupid "arguments" on what works and what doesn't that are made on baseless assertions. Everything works for a little while, but nothing will work forever.

Done. I guess I had cheap bags because they all busted when I threw them at POD. It's odd how things turn out sometimes.

I think chucking a kettlebell would work a bit more effectively.

In other news, $37,600 to go in less than a week. http://www.crossfitrrg.com/
Also, PayPal donations to the RRG aren't working. http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=47562
My guess is PayPal put some sort of limit on the account for suspicious activity (and rightfully so).

Also, the CF gym I mentioned a few days ago, where the trainer gave me a lipservice shpeal about the "slop," is a member of the RRG. So, it's not just "the responsible affiliates" who are joining. Guys like him are going to drain that $500k real quick, assuming Glassman's gin habit doesn't drain it first.

No they're not, fuckstick.

Haven't you been paying attention?

If you're sued, it's b/c you were a "bad" affiliate who fucked up the program.

Thus, no defense will be provided.

After all, you wouldn't want "good" affiliates subsidizing irresponsible ones would you?
