At first I really thought that an entire book dedicated to the aspects of one punch a bit much. Tom has actually put together a pretty decent examination of the mechanics behind the straight lead and its origins. For those who have classical/historical fencing knowledge, you should recognize a number of terms and theories that are familiar.
Even having a decent background in JKD I found the book to be well put together and some takes on the mechanics involved in classic JKD that were new to me. I wish that she would have not made the straight lead the core of her study and fleshed out some of her more interesting points because, let's face it, the straight lead is just one tool and it does not, nor should not, comprise the whole of the system.
Just my take on it. Cool enough to own.
