funny how the end of an @fit workout sounds remarkably like getting forcibly anal raped with a broken glass-encrusted Louisville Slugger.

Ain't rape if you consent to it.

And by "consent" I can assume you mean "paying upwards of $200 per month for a one weekend certified fitness professional to rape me"?

Yah, looks like the Ross Pinetum near the west side.

Right. I didn't know the name of the locale, but the buildings across the Hudson, the streetlight and the park bench, far left, all add up.

This looniness is from the @-blog in response to the reason for @F women doing figure comps. Apparently it's more than just a workout.
Dan

Words may fail me in exactly how to explain to you why these physique competitions are not a "joke" or to your likeing, just as words may fail some of us while explaining to others why we end workouts with bloody hands, sweat angels, or on our backs in what looks like some pre-death convulsion.

The judging criteria is simply looks...no performance. Symetry, presentation, muscularity. No clock. The clock is how I get them ready, for a stage where they need to be mentally strong enough to stand up half naked and be judged, and either get a trophy...or the look of..."not today" from a sea of eyes gazing at every bit of perfection, or lack therof.

I merly wish to showcase the art I love in CrossFit. CrossFit can create just about whatever you wish, and it stands alone in this. Elite performance, tantalizing physiques, or mental toughness others only dream about. Its not for me to tell others what to do with the gifts CrossFit gives them....it is merly my profession to give individuals the tools, to make the gifts for themselves.

The koolaid is strong with that one - or quite the accomplished troll.
What is this elite thing they speak of? Because I found this today and it looks pretty elite or gay.

I may have skimmed through all the comments too quickly. But I am pretty sure coach said something about spectators being free. Can someone please chime in on the fact that if I want my mom and dad to come to a sectional they have to pay $100? That seems a little insane considering I paid $100 to compete. Now don't get me wrong I am sure putting on an event like this (I competed in a regional qualifier last year) cost an arm and a leg, not to mention the logistical nightmare. But really? charging for spectators?

Last year I paid $90 to compete in the regional qualifiers with free spectating. This year it's $100 for sectional qualifiers and another $50 for any spectators (besides my one freebie of course).

Thoughts?

Couch is under fire AGAIN for taking sponsorship of the gaymes from a protein shake company, which to many of the sheeple still in the matrix thinks flies against the Fitness in 100 words bullshit.

Sofa King,

At the gym last night: @fit dude wearing a @FFB shirt (the back had some crap slogan about forging powerful athletes). I was there for about a half hour and had done my box squats and was working on a BW circuit; he had done. . .nothing that I could see. Looked like he had the rack set up for floor presses, but only had the empty bar on the pins.
The real site was his partner; a full-on andro chick. Good thickness, nice ass, Asian, hyooge guns, wearing knee-socks (the dead giveaway as no other woman in the gym, including my wife, was wearing them). The other @fitter give away?
She got up on the bar and ripped off about a dozen kipping pull-ups. Some MMA boys were impressed.
I'm trying to find out what local affiliate they would run with.

I believe you are talking about myself and my girlfriend that were at 24 hour fitness in Anaheim on wed evening. Yes I had the rack set up for pin presses, obviously you missed the end result which had 450 on the bar. It is funny you seem to notice everything else but that. By the way, the only person I seen doing box squats was some SKINNY FUCK using the red metal box in the power rack about ten min before? why did I notice? because what you call box squats was NOTHING NEAR a real box squat, and I am being really nice when I say that.

I will tell you just like I did my girlfriend that same night after leaving the gym. "I did not see one person at that gym that looked like they had trained a day in their life" .

So you would like to know "what Affilate I would run with" ? Feel free to send me a message and I will be glad to let you know! :)

P.S. Thank's for the kind words about my girlfriend, I am willing to bet that she could out lift you in every realm, even being drug free that she is.

Guess the military isn't supporting the couch any more. Boo fucking hoo.
Some ugly news on the USAF and CrossFit.

Bottom Line: A military affilliate just got shut down by the folks who run the gym on base. These particular DoD fitness people are doing exactly what people do when they feel threatened by the truth - they protect their empire (the brand of "fitness", "health and wellness", and training they espouse) and reject the truth (proven, repeatable, observable results through CrossFit or "high intensity" programs).

It would be sweet if there was a way that CrossFit could be accepted as an "approved certification" in the eyes of institutions like the USAF. Have I read bits & pieces about Nicole Carroll potentially chasing after this?

I've attached a document with the "Accepted Organizations & Certifications" (WFS). Is there any information on this in CrossFit Land? No, I haven't searched the threads yet... pre-emptive apology.

There are still some places/gyms that continue to grow - mostly under the radar or because they have a powerful patron who is a CrossFitter - but more of this seems like it'll come down from on high.

Maybe it shouldn't surprise me as a military member since it seems that DoD fitness protocols, facilities, and fitness "experts" have been failing about 90% of their gym customers for decades - why change now?

What should we (the DoD CrossFitters) do? Thoughts?

The US Military does not want to pay for PT.

I'm sure that any particular "affiliate" is left alone until it becomes an issue in some way. Maybe it takes up too much space, maybe too many injuries are being tracked back to it, or maybe the people who train that way are too much of a pain in the ass for their own good (that doesn't sound like your average, exercise-retard @Fer, does it?)

Well hello. Sorry I missed your pin presses, but like I said there was only an empty bar when I saw it.
Your girl was impressive with her kipping pull ups, but like I said the size in those guns make me think. As for my box squats, thanks for the compliment. I don't think I've ever been called a SKINNY FUCK in my life. Maybe my clothes were too baggy. If you looked at my log, you'll see why I do what I do and why I don't do @fit routines.
Have a nice stay in So Cal. Hope you enjoyed Disneyland.
